I started collecting gold when I was a teen in the '60s. Paid $58 for my first BU St.Gauden's. My collection is a bit smaller than yours. I am not a stacker. All my gold is vintage US and Worldwide. I even have a couple of Roman. So while I own gold,I also have, a nice collection. I would recommend that gold stackers add a few collectible ones to their portfolio. It is fun!

I agree. You surely have room for a couple ancients. I think he's geared more towards spot in his collecting though. I think I paid 6x spot for my ancients - I think I got a really good deal too. Not to mention all the fakes I got along the way.

​@shanejones578 you will be , think positive. At 24 I just finished my associate degree and was working a terrible job while still in the National Guard. Went back to active duty again and got out at 28, finished my BS at 30 including being homeless for a few months during winter of 09/10. Since then I've upgraded vehicles multiple times, bought a beautiful house, added a vintage motorcycle, snowmobile, and Jeep Grand Wagoneer plus a few tractors before even hitting a decade after being homeless. Since then I sold the house and most tractors to live in a new camper and travel. Started with silver last summer and just got my first gold this week in the form of some SD Bullion 80th Anniversary D Day 1/4 OZT coins. My life has been up and down but beautiful so always KNOW that you can accomplish your goals. Drink, phone, and smoke less, walk in nature and turn off your cable! I'm retired at 45 but only because I happily drive an 05 truck and downsized to a camper but I'm single. You can do it.

While everyone else marvels at the sheer volume of gold here, I am more amused by the fact its still in all kinds of holders and flips and capsules and so on. I also just keep stuff in whatever it came to me in, and often second guess myself as to if I should somehow "organize" the storage containers. But I never do, and so years later my stuff is also in all shapes and sizes of packaging. That's my favorite part of seeing all of this laid out by a "pro stacker" like yourself. :)

A coworker had been buying gold since the 1980s or 1990s. I was told that he has over $10 million in gold, mostly Chinese pandas and he has them in large security boxes at the bank. So he's probably got more than $10 million due to the numismatic value. Back when we were all buying stocks and real estate l, he was buying gold and urging his coworkers to do so as well, but nobody listened. Slow and steady wins the race, lol.

Great collection SAL! I had a different strategy from the beginning by getting more Collectible Gold that are graded. I did get collectible Silver as well. Only in the recent 2 years did I start to do more low premium stacking Silver. I’m catching up on these. I thought that the collectibles would appreciate more over time, but I might be wrong.

I got into silver late but the shop only had very old 70’s type silver some 80’s so my stimmy purchase was high per ounce but now I know silver is silver some of those old bars I bought went for triple of what paid online so I made 3 to 1 for my mistake of paying 30/34 a ounce

Hi Sal, I too am a collecter, but you could say by comparison, I'm but a twinge in my late father's testicle, most items are Royal Mint, Though I've upped the quality, I'm stuck around the 70oz at the expense of switching out quite alot of silver. My silver to gold ratio has closed to 4.5 - 1
