For many years I have been a fan of the mountain modal tuning/playing. This particular recording is one of the more incredible bits of life- music of fretless banjo and harpa that I have enjoyed in many years. The subtile gathering and intermingling of notes allows " Sally in the garden" to levitate to a new and dynamic plane, usually only achieved by much older and experienced players. Kinda makes the concept of reincarnation a bit more visible. Thank you & well done !

The interpretation of this tune is unique. And THE best I've heard if it. I am still looking for another similar version with the same minor keyed influence. If anyone knows of one let me know. Thanks.

Nice to know that Laurel Premo has contact with someone swedish. För nyckelharpa är väl ärkesvenskt? Then I might sometime in the future be able to hear her live. Sheś like Midas, gold and so! Och Anna, helt underbart det ni skapar tillsammans. Att jag började med en hyllning till Laurel är bara för att jag har varit såld på donnans banjospel en längre tid! SUPERB mao (typisk svensk förkortning eller..?) :)

Your music is so captivating. I do have a question though. I am an instrument maker of sorts. Laurel. Are the strings on your banjo gut? Is the instrument made of gourd? And what would it take to get you to Greenville (area) South Carolina?

+Bill LaCasse Thanks! My gourd banjo was made by Jeff Menzies. The strings I use are Aquila brand nylon, created to sound like gut. I am certain that this duo will be doing a tour on the eastern part of our country sometime, but it may be a year or two out. Cheers! Thanks for listening.
