Hurdlers need to have strong abs. It's part of what helps them get their legs up and over the hurdles fast. Try lifting your legs up when you've pulled an abdominal muscle and you'll see how necessary they are.

In truth I think Sally is one of the absolute best performers I have ever seen. I do not believe I have ever seen anyone who so flawlessly clears a hurdle like she does. If you took a snap of her crossing the hurdle, you could virtually super impose it over each other hurdle, and you would find her in exactly the same place. As she exits each hurdle she is mothing but smoothness, and it is my belief that this is what gets her the win most of the time.

An Australian hero, a champion on and off the track. Silver medalist at the same event in the previous Olympicz. Sally was the favorite, the world champion and with her silver medal success at Beijing Australia was following her all the way to the London. She was unbeatable leading into the Olympics and carried huge weight of expectation. Australia rarely has track and field athletes who are finalists., so when a talent pushes onto and reaches the elite level we follow them all the way...we knew noone was faster than Sally, noone knows how uf that fact alone will get her the gold - but it did...you can barely watch, your heart is racing and your praying she achieves her goal and the whole nation knows that anything other than gold would be dissappointing for Sally..Her determination to succeed is not just for herself, its not to feed her own ego, she is really running for the people of Australia and every accolade that came her way she remained humble and true to herself. A lifetime of training and an expectation equal to what Cathy would of felt in Sydney 2000..it was the lifetime of practice that got her the gold.. It wasnt Sallys best race, best races are the ones run on aecond nature allowing your body to give an extrat burst cause theres no thought its all flowing and you then get that burst.. it is obvious the weight of expectation from well wishes alone was becoming draining. Fo us on what she trained everyday for slowed her but also got her the gold. Free flowing comes down to this one moment they are thelifetime of practice for that one moment. Sally won silver at the previous Olympics which was a great achievement ereAustralia loves their sportsm had the

Amazing race, and Sally was in AMAZING form here! Also, Harper was closing like a freight train, and I believe if she ran one or two more steps through the line instead of leaning so early she may have gotten the edge. Amazing race!

Pearson`s hand was the FIRST !!! She is a champion! Look at 6.26 - her hand was the first .

@@kotjatina1The rule is to award the runner whose torso crosses first...not hand.

@@stevie586 , the hand is part of the human body. Maybe YOUR hand belongs to another human body, but other people have their hands.

@@kotjatina1You were already told the rules and you’re still behaving pretty ignorantly. Imagine.

As much as I love an upset I also really like to see favorites win. Pearson had dominated the 100 m hurdles for the last couple years before the Olympics and was a truly worthy champion. It's sad that the rest of her career was plagued by injuries.
