I was so PROUD for Shelly Ann that night because for whole season she was dealing with a injury. And on that night she run the fastest for the entire season that how she got on the podium. It is Genetic. They genetically have more fast twitch muscle fiber, ( adaptation to a sugar cane based diet from slave agriculture on the island) which is good for quick, short burst, reactions; But burn out quickly. opposite of slow twitch muscle fiber. However, they are not good at endurance and long distance events. You will probably never see an natural native born Jamaican in and Iron man competition or any endurance competition.

In all honesty in a few years/decades this Olympics will probably be looked at as a disaster, as most olympics have expect London. But for the athletes it was very good but it wont beenfit Brazil at all
