I read so many of these comments talking about how these people are in love. I'm happy for you! This song isn't love towards a partner for me. It's love for my dear grandmother. She had breast cancer and pasted away in 2011. She loved Tim Burton, especially The Nightmare Before Christmas. Her favorite song from this movie was Sally's song. This literally brought me to tears. This song just came to my mind in a bad moment. I broke with my partner, lost him to his addiction and related issues, the more I tried to help the more he pushed me away. The truth is he never really made an effort to let me in, with his friends or to change his ways. He is too full of cocaine to see reality and something tragic is bound to happen. The song describes my feelings so accurate it hurts. He's still a beautiful person and I love him but I'm not his soul mate, the white dust is his only true love. Lives totally isolated, I'm the only one who has seen what he's really like in the last two years, his family doesn't know and friends don't really care, they've been absent for years, too busy with their lives, they gave up on him long ago. I'm sad this is how he's decided to live and soon die, as if all the love I've given him never existed or mattered. It's not to be, I worry what will become of him and where his actions will lead him now.

For your own sake and health I applaud you for having the strength to step away. Maybe one day he’ll realize what he was doing to himself and the people around him.
