There were at least 2-3 emotionally strong scenes in every film of theirs, which you would want to watch over and again. That is my reason for their success. Two very intelligent people, who worked very well together and left a mark that will remain unmatched. I also believe that Amitabh Bachchan through his personality, acting and conviction, epitomised and brought to life their struggle, anger, frustration, intention, brilliant writing and eventual success, as a consequence of that. It was lovely to see their children and those they wrote for, share and celebrate the achievements of Salim Sir and Javed Sir. Ultimate teamwork!

Salim sahab would have been forgotten had Salman not achieved extraordinary success at the box office. Same for Javed sahab, who is much younger and more active of the two. Hindi cinema's attitude is slanted towards box collections than film-making and its process. Nobody cares to remember the craftsmen and women.

As a lyricist, he’s right up there in the class of Gulzar and Sahir Ludhianvi. Even in the 21st century, the Mam wrote Lakshya all by himself, one of the most cult Indian films of this century, and he continued working with new and younger generations of filmmakers, from directors like Gowariker and his children to composers like Rahman and Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Yes, unlike Javed Sahab, Salim sahab stopped working, so the new audiences do not know him as well, or perhaps only know him through his superstar son. But who cares about the commercial audience ? Every true film lover, doesn’t matter what generation he’s from, knows and admires Salim Javed. Nobody is going to remember box office numbers twenty years from now. I understand your cynicism towards the film industry. It’s true that they prioritise business over art. But numbers will be forgotten, most of these people who treat cinema like a business will be forgotten… Salim Javed, they will always be remembered.

It's a great tribute to these 2 legends, but unfortunately late also when we don't have great directors like Yash Chopra, Parkash Mehra who made great films on their scripts like Trishol, Kala Pathar, Deewar etc but of course Zanjeer was above all by prakash Mehra which made History for them and Mr. Amitabh Bachan . Even then this documentary will be a great guide for coming generations.
