The junimos have leafs on their heads because it's raining. That's part of the Better Junimos mod, whenever it's raining, all junimos will be carrying little leaf umbrellas :) And there is no compatibility problem between SVE and the Deep Woods. I've used both together with absolutely no problem.

Sophia is known to be one of the harder NPCs to befriend, mostly because her loved gifts come up later, and her birthday is right at the end of the year. As for a mod to add, I like the mod 'Remember My Birthday' since it lets you experience your birthday in the game. All the villagers you met will wish you a happy birthday, and if you're a decent enough level (like 2 or 3 hearts) with them, they'll give you gifts. It's how I got my first Rare Seed in one playthrough (mine was set for the second to last day of spring). And don't worry about missing gifts if you don't talk to someone, they'll just send it to you the next day.

I believe it's Happy Birthday that's the mod that gives the player a birthday. Remember My Birthday is still great though because it gives the NPCs new birthday schedules to make them actually matter haha

One of Sophia’s loved gifts is a Puppyfish, which can be caught pretty much once you get the fishing rod. It’s rough to catch, but it’s an easy gift for her in the early game. Then once you see her 6 heart event, you can just buy Grampleton Orange Chicken from the saloon

@@Toni_3301 under the geneva convention, the symbol of the red cross is restricted so that it may only be used by groups directly under the banner of the red cross aid organization. this is done to avoid dilution of the symbol's meaning, as its association is very important to protecting the aid workers. originally, the sign above harvey's clinic displayed a cross in red, but this was patched in 1.3.32, making the cross blue instead. the aesthetic mods on display in the video changed the cross back to a red color, and, in so doing, made the game violate the geneva convention once more. i hope this was explanation enough!

I really suggest substituting “Love of Cooking” for your cooking skill mod! It’s more in depth, adds a ton of recipes and let’s you upgrade your frying pan to add more ingredients. I highly recommend it!

On paper, I really like the Love of Cooking mod, it adds a lot of interesting new changes, like making it so eating food restores health and stamina over time. Unfortunately, in practice, it hasn't been updated in a while and it seems to have a few major bugs. The one that keeps hitting me makes it so health and/or stamina gain from food just stops, until you rest, meaning food will just randomly stop working in the middle of the day. So, I'd only really recommend it if it gets an update.

It makes a bunch of cats spawn across town and it's so adorable. They're inside when it rains, and the library is full of them when it does. Andy's cat has a blue cap to match his default sprite, it's so charming. I also love Expressive Elf Ears by GoblinHours, they're so adorable and I will never ever remove them.

Just a heads up, since you mentioned you like characters looking older there's an option for an older Sophia portrait in SVE's configs. There's also an option for more mature dialog that according, to the mod page, "contain extremely serious topics, dark undertones, and moral ambiguity". Not sure if you want that for your series, but I thought I'd mention it here. Also worth adding that Olivia is pretty difficult to befriend so good luck with your love quest! Loved this episode and I'm excited to watch the next!

Yeah they build new events that are based on topics that got (lightly) touched in vanilla SDV. But a lot of people complained that it was triggering them and they didn't want heavy topics like SA or realistic alcoholism in their happy farm game.

I find it hilarious that you were totally caught off guard by Morris hating Joja Cola. I was fully expecting it to turn out to be a hated item. And it's not a reference to many people's learned aversion to products they are around all day every day. (My father worked in an ice cream factory for a while...he refused to eat it for the longest time). It's not merely a joke - it's social commentary. It is EXTREMELY common in the corporate world to find that many executives make a concerted point of NOT consuming the products they push onto the rest of us. The underlying idea is that they know perfectly well how bad a given thing is. Such as tobacco executives who wouldn't smoke if you paid them to do, or various moguls within the digital realm who won't use and/or strictly limit their children's use of the very products they market.

I'd recommend Context Sensitive Gift Cursor, it'll let you know if you're giving a gift or fulfilling an item quest :] I'd also suggest the Mail Services Mod, though it might be a bit overpowered for what playstyle you're after. It lets you mail gifts and fulfill orders that way - I can't play without it anymore

What you describe with regard to Persona 5 is a perfectly normal thing. It's called the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon, or the frequency illusion. You're not actually seeing references to Persona 5 more than normal, you're just more intensely aware of it. The fact that you're noticing this because you started playing the game makes it a pretty textbook example - it's happening BECAUSE you started playing the game and thus it's immediately in your radar. It involves selective attention and confirmation bias.

I love those smalltown festivals, I have a similar story - I traveled a couple hours to stay in a town for one of em, and I was looking forward to it all year, and then I arrived the day before and felt so ill the entire time I saw maybe 30 minutes of the festival at most and spent the entire trip in my hotel room feeling sorry for myself LMAO
