That's nae a bad Brownie! There's always plenty craic when regular visitors Pete and David are on the beat, that's for sure. As you can see from this footage, we were inundated with water as the season drew to a close, so much so that the anglers were severely restricted to where they could fish safely from the bank. It was almost impossible to actually walk in the river, as the water level was so high and it was rising by around an inch every hour when Pete hooked this fish on his dressed double. Despite the continual rise, the water remained crystal clear and the fish continued to grab (unsuccessfully) at the flies. Taken on the 12th of October, three days before our season came to a close, you can see for yourself that this was not a gravid fish by any means but it was definitely one of the 'least silver' of the salmon that I netted this season. All good things come to an end I suppose and our season on the Ness ended at exactly the right time, just as the fish were beginning to change into their spawning regalia. I can't thank Pete and David enough for their efforts throughout the season and in particular during their last two days of fishing. It was definitely hard going but I am reliably informed that if it was easy, we'd soon lose interest!
Happy days ;)
