Salmon downrigger strikes compilation, Trolling Master Bornholm.

See several clips when salmon strikes on downrigger rod fishing. The videos are captured during Europas biggest trolling competition, Trolling Master Bornholm 2012. The competition last for four days. Bornholm is a Danish island in the Baltic Sea. Its probably the best place for fishing salmon in the hole Europa. 251 boats from six different contrys competed. We , A-Team trolling (Norway), ended in a very good 13 place. We use braided line on the Cannon Mag 20 downrigger, and we use Shark Cannon Balls. Awesome downrigger release footage!! I fish Lake Ontario, and we hook a few Atlantics, but way more Kings, Steelhead, and Coho, with some brown trout and Lakers thrown in for good measure. I love the ways those Atlantics jump! Love your videos guys!!

Nice fish and strikes! Do the shark downrigger weights actually work as advertised as a fish attractor and you just run your lure closely behind the weight? Or do you mainly use them to reduce blowback, and still run a flasher or other attractor behind it? Thanks

Good day A-Team. Can you give some information for me ? :) Im a beginner in salmon trolling. Im from lithuania and i try trolling in baltic sea too :) I want to buy some flashers. Can you recommend some of the best flashers colors size and manufacturer exactly for baltic sea ? :) And i want to buy shark canon ball. I think about chrome 10 or 12 lbs. What is better ? If not interrupting please tell me about some efective spoons what you use. I have northern king, rhino, ismo mag.

The most importent thing is to find the salmons. When you find them, then stay there. Its very importent that the flasher rotate with the correct tempo. Adjust so it works good with all of the other lures to. We normaly have a speed of 2,5-2,8 knots, but this can change with current in water. I alway look at my downrigger-wire to see if i have the correct speed. If its hanging strait down=i go to slow, and if its hanging in a horisontal way= i go to fast.

The correct angle is about 40 degree,(i use a 15lbs shark cannonball) depends on how deep you fish and how heavy ball you are using. I also dont think it is very importent what kind of spoon you use. It is more about how it swings in the water. If it rotates you are going to fast, but you can prevent this by putting on an extra splitt ring near the hook. I always use two splitt rings at the hook end.
