Scotland has some of the best salmon fly waters in the world, I have enjoyed fishing with flies for a long time Cheers Iain 🥃

What a great video as usual Iain. That's a great line you throw. Love the take on the Sunray, my favourite fly. Stunning water.
@IainSBАй бұрын
I hadn't fished with a sunray before Colin and it won't be my last. they hit hard when they grab it and its exciting when you fish a floating line as they do come to the surface and try grab it Cheers Iain. 🥃

Good to see fish in the River Ian. Entertaining video and great casting. I am sure its all in the technique! Lets hope the numbers keep on going up. We have a lot of Rain in Germany and fish numbers seem to be going up.Lets see whats caught by Christmas and hope we have enough broodstock.

There are more fish in the upper Tweed than I have seen for years Christopher and for a change very few seem to have any disease so all looks good hear. I hope that you have the same result in your area . we have had very little rain and the upper river is about summer level and the fish are still moving upstream. Cheers Iain.

Well done Iain! Funnily enough this was also the first year I'd tried the Sunray in anger. It worked great with the sea trout one the North Esk! An exciting way of fishing..
@IainSBАй бұрын
It does work well for sea trout . the first one wasn't a salmon. they certainly hit hard exiting stuff! Cheers Iain 🥃

I think this year has seen a lot more fish in our systems James, the only trouble is most don't want to take. I know good anglers that haven't had a fish this season Cheers Iain 🥃

Great sounds - the water rushing around waders, the wind, fish splashing, and...that drag!. And yes, beautiful fish!,

I can't help enjoying the days at the river Richard. Every day sets new challenges its never the same two days on the the trot and I think that's what makes fishing so different from other sports. I can't understand why anglers use silent reels, I have a lot of them I bought while I was being silly and they now hide away in a drawer Cheers Iain. 🥃
@robinbeavan5152Ай бұрын
You certainly put a lot of salmon on the bank and I don't think it's luck.great fishing as always. I think good fishermen get a feel for the water and the quarry they are after.keep the videos coming please.

Thank you Robin. I think that being in the right place at the right time can help and also enjoying the day. I think a relaxed angler usually catches more fish Cheers Iain. 🥃

Excellent, congratulations Iain. Successful day despite facing a rising water! Well done and thanks for sharing.

I have managed a few times to catch fish in water that has been rising. I think it makes a difference if the water isn't coloured Cheers Iain 🥃

Great stuff Iain, good conditions for you up there. Thanks
@IainSBАй бұрын
It was a strange day Paul the river was rising all day but we managed a few fish. a lot of guys would have said you won't catch fish in rising water, its always better to persevere Cheers Iain. 🥃

Well done Iain, lovely to see the takes so clearly. Nick from York
@IainSBАй бұрын
I think it was because I was fishing with a floating line and pollytip Nick. they had to come to the surface . It was quite exiting watching the fish come for the fly Cheers Iain. 🥃

Great to see you getting stuck into a few, Iain. Conditions look spot on.

Thanks for another excellent video Iain. My son uses the sunray shadow and does well but I always thought that is was too much like exercise but after watching your video I think I’ll give it a shot when there are fresh fish on the go. It looks very exciting

That was my first time fishing with a sunray Andrew. I have recently had another couple of hours on the Tweed and had a couple of fish hit the fly but never stayed on. worth another shot sometime. Cheers Iain 🥃

Nice one Iain. I only fished the sunray a few times and had fish go at it and miss it every time. Did you change anything to eventually hook a fish on the Sunray as it isn't something I know I'm fishing correctly or not? Cheers Stevie
@IainSBАй бұрын
Hi Stevie I think it's more a case of if the fish want it they will go for it. I was supposed to cast it square but my muscle memory kept pushing me to 45 and I was told I was pulling on the line too slow. I am not sure if I was doing it right or the fish felt sorry for me. I never changed anything to get the fish to take I just found the silly ones Cheers Iain 🥃

I think that one had dried out Sandy I hadn't used it for a while and must have put it away wet and just took it out from the back of the motor because it had skinny running line Cheers Iain. 🥃
