Salmon fishing on the opening day of the river Tay January 15th 2024

First day on the river Tay 2024 . it was a bit cold but enjoyable we were invited to Lower Bolfracks for lunch.

Great sound of the river there ....remember fishing long ago and you would miss the sound on moving away.

I have fished four days this year so far which is unusual for me at this time of year Kevin . It was a lot cooler on the Tay than my days on the Helmsdale Cheers Iain. 🥃

Come rain or snow dedicated salmon fishermen. I take it the water was far warmer than the air temp? Nice video ian of scotland in the winter.

we won't catch fish sitting in the house Chris so got to get out there. The water temp was a lot warmer than the air temp and I had to use that to clear the ice from the rings several times . we need a lot more snow compacted on the hills and mountains to keep the rivers flowing as it melts Cheers Iain. 🥃

Jim had gone to a lot of effort Paddy It was difficult to leave the roaring fire and the crack I find it difficult to watch anglers doing silly things ....... on the brighter side I remember being in a busy bar on one of my few days away fishing and one of the locals (Jonny) appeared and asked the barmaid How's The Crack. her reply was sore but I need the money 🫣. No one has had a fish of the Tay system so for this year Mr Mazo . I have never tried the deep heat on the feet but it sounds a good Idea Ill need to head to the pharmacies before my next outing Jema poured a small slow gin which was very warming and had to wait until I got home to get a decent measure 🥃 Cheers Iain 🥃😉
