A two day trip to the River Brora. The river was running at a good hight and salmon had been caught further upstream

I would gladly go back there Mr Mazo . the river was running about 1ft above summer level but the pools have got a bit of depth and think it would hold fish in the summer Cheers Iain. 🥃

Those were fantastic pools Ian some great takes with those sea trout. I would say that big pull may have been a fish. Really enjoyed the video thanks for the enjoyment. Tight lines for the next one.

I had never fish the Brora before Laurie and I really enjoyed it . Just finishing editing the second day there and hope that I get the chance to fish there again Cheers Iain. 🥃

Hi iane , you should give me Alness a wee cast on your way back,I've seen 3 in the last week,I watch all your videos and I have adopted some of your tactics, I've yet to land one ,hade a lovely fish about 10-12lb jumper about to net it but that's fishing, maybe next time, keep the amazing work up, John from Alness,

Thanks John. About six years ago I walked along the banks of the Alness and at the time my wife wasn't well or I would have tried to get a day or two. Maybe sometime in the future I will get back and fish your lovely wee river Cheers Iain. 🥃

I had a great time over the two days fishing James. the river was at a perfect hight and I think that most of the salmon were traveling past at fish were getting caught in the upper river Cheers Iain. 🥃

Looks a lovely bit of water to fish. Sorry I had that thing that gets in the way of fishing called work and couldn't meet up with you when you were up. Nice to have some silver on the end of the line even if it wasn't quite the intended quarry.

It was a stunning river to fish with the surroundings Christopher . every thing was bursting into life the broom was bright yellow and then to get a couple of wee fish Perfect. Cheers Iain 🥃

Thanks Mark as you can tell I enjoy my fishing. The Clyde has always produced so cracking trout . I used to fish the Medwins a lot and had some great days Cheers Iain. 🥃

Quality Iain keep up the great work. I'm local to the Clyde, mainly fish Black Cart water runs round the Glasgow Airport. Cracking fish to be had here. Tight lines 👌😉

I had never fished on the river Brora before and would love to go back and have another day or two Tommy . I think after the early season fishing it was a joy to fish when the weather was as good Cheers Iain. 🥃

Very nice day for fishing it looks. Beautiful river and a distillery in the neighborhood, it doesn’t get much better in my opinion. Iain, on our visit we did see a lot of salmon farms in different lochs. Is that a good thing in your opinion or does it hurt the natural salmon run? Cheers🥃, Marcel

A perfect day for fishing Marcel and in a perfect place (never made it to the distillery). Thank the lord that the east coast aren't suitable for salmon farms as most of the west coast rivers have seen the numbers of fish in the systems destroyed I hope that you enjoyed your trip Cheers Iain. 🥃

Hi Iain, what a cracking river that is and that wind was doing the rounds but still, you had a lovely sea trout mate , I know it’s not a salmon but I would be happy with that, I heard you say you were using the airflo rage compact line Iain , what do you think of them? I think they’re a game changer in casting with a shorter rod. Brilliant viewing Iain can’t wait for the next one. Cheers. 🍷Steve.

I have used that line on my 14.9 Shakespeare with a tip Stephen and it even suits that rod..... I believe they have stopped making them and wished that I had bought a spare Cheers Iain 🥃

@@IainSB Hi Iain. Tackle base on e/bay still do them but in a kit where you get the line and polyleaders in the box. Depends what weight you need for your rod. Hope it helps you. Steve. 👍

I just recently played golf at Brora GC on my first trip to the Highlands. Is this stretch of the river near the golf course? Beautiful area!

I don't think that its far from the golf course Brian Its probably about a mile upstream form Brora Cheers Iain. 🥃
