The new rod will not last long if you treat it like that when your fly gets stuck 🤨

Brilliant video Chris. New subscriber here & Life long friend of Ian and his family. Have fished this beat a few times. Ian is a top and very helpful ghillie would highly recommend. Look forward to more videos. Tight lines 👍🏻

We have all been there-point the rod at the snagged fly and either handline or walk/wade backwards; turn your face away unless you've glasses because these things can fly like a .22 bullet when they decide to. Alternative is that you could damage a lovely rod-or your face ! That said thanks for the video-looked like a lovely beat , small enough that I could maybe manage it.

Maybe i should have featured the whole 10 minute battle doing everything you said. In fact it could have been a whole video itself. 🤣🤣

You'd love it Colin. Did you get any joy on the Stinchar the day after we fished Upper Redgorton?

@CornishChrisTheFish no nothing . Plus Friday there river was big but fishable got to a nice height in evening. Someone got 1 1 mile upstream at knockdolian in the evening and same guy got another yesterday in perfect water.

Really enjoyed that fishing trip. The new rod looks terrific to cast, and definitely looking forward to your day's on the mighty Tay. I believe you used to have to live in Perthshire to get the PDAA ticket, certainly thinking about it for next season..tight lines Chris

One of the first salmon beats I ever cast a line too and blanked on. A lovely place to wet a line, but I will admit that I flinched when you tried to rip the fly out of that snag. Please never do that again.
