@@TheAwakeningAngler I think it will trigger the few pods in the estuary with the cooler water from the reservoir and the rain run off the salmon tribs, hopefully the bloodhounds of the water smell the river out in the staging area out in the lake and start moving up…

Question, is it legal to use a spinning outfit w/ 10lb braid and a fluorocarbon leader? What size hooks for bait? I stripe bass fish and would love to give this a shot.

it can't hurt, that's for sure. No matter what it is in life, time and repetition make you better. the beauty of seeing the river in the low water off season is that you learn what the bottom looks like in every spot, deep spots in low water now become the spot in a spot in each pool and run under normal all the way to flood level. all summer is for scouting and learning the where part of the game. You can have the slickest presentation and the most cutting edge baits, if you put them in the wrong spots then what's it matter. I've always assumed if I put it in just the right spot I don't really care what the bait is, location to me is more important
@boblove68652 жыл бұрын
Don't need to snag em. I ain't preaching neither because I am old enough to been a legal snagger but they will bite. Whether or not they eat is another story but bite they will. South shore is gonna heat up soon! Tight lines!
@TheAwakeningAngler2 жыл бұрын

I haven't been able to find much info but maybe you could help. I've heard that females will sometimes see an egg or imitation falling behind their red and pick it up with their mouth to move it back. Anyone else hear that before? I know they can strike out of aggression as I've seen that first hand, the other one would be harder to observe but still cool!
@TheAwakeningAngler2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't doubt they can and would do that

I like your message 9 out of 10, but don’t you see by casting the divide of how to catch them, you’re causing a riff? I have been flossing for years as I was taught, as I get older I’m more interested in getting the aggravation bites, or aggression bites, but it’s because of the years of flossing that I’ve done, the established love I have for going to Pulaski. If you cast out negativity on someone’s skill level, they’re less likely to listen to you. Instead, let’s embrace these fellow anglers, buy them a beer, and share our skill and knowledge. The better fishing atmosphere starts at the pub or at the bait shop, not at the river.
