Breaks my heart to see those littles growing up so fast but I know that’s how God does things. Watching all this fishing for salmon makes my husbands mouth water. We just bought a can of pink salmon but there is nothing to compare to fresh and the price of that one can makes your bucket of fish look like a gold mine. I will say it again that the scenery is just breathtaking...God in His infinite wisdom gave us so much to be grateful for. Thanks for sharing yet another enjoyable snippet of your life with us!!!:):):)

That river is beautiful, but moving fast. Those are lovely fish. Watching the children on those rocks fishing so close to the river makes me catch my breath! Salmon looks delicious. As usual, everything makes my mouth water, lol. I’ve never eaton salmon eggs 🤔. The stream looks much safer 😉, and the kids look like they’re having a wonderful time. That last river is moving rapidly also, whoa! The rainbow is beautiful! Thanks for posting. God Bless 🙏❤️

Wow! What a great video. I grew up with a dad who loved to fish and hunt. We ate very well from all that he harvested from the land. You may be having alot of fun while you fish but you are teaching your children important skills of survival and provision. (As I'm sure you know, Joas.) You make learning fun for your children. You make me want to pack up and leave Ohio and move to Montana. The river looks exciting and dangerous and all at the same time teaching another lesson...respect for the land. (I'm sorry, I had alot to say this time.)😊

Stunning scenery Joas. Wish I was there with your family; especially to catch some beautiful salmon because I love fresh fish! Yum, yum 😋 Joas you need to have your fishing net with you so nobody accidentally looses a fish or falls in attempting to catch one on the hook!! The rainbow was absolutely breathtaking!!🌈 God is so Good! What are you using for bate? Do you ever smoke your salmon Joas and then keep it for later in the season or how do you cook your salmon for the year.? Do you just freeze them? My brothers smoke a lot of the large fish. It tastes so good from the smoker. We do have plenty frozen too but I wondered if you placed some of those beautiful red beauties in the smoker! I’m curious about the frying of the fish eggs? What do you do exactly need to do and what are they mixed with upon frying them; what vitamin benefits does one obtain from the fish eggs? Thank you 😊
@MontanaHaven4 жыл бұрын
OK Michelle! Yes, Salmon and is the best! We don’t use bait we snag them with large hooks. We do have a smoker and I did smoke quite a few fillets and then freeze them. They are absolutely delicious! Regarding the fish eggs, I really don’t know what benefit they have but I’m sure they are healthy. Probably lots of omega three vitamins. We just fry them in some olive oil and salt.

Had no idea snagging was legal in Montana till now. Pretty controversial but understandable for kokanee. Looks like I'll be hitting the Kootenai this year. How does the meat compare to a nonspawned? . Cheers from North Idaho
@MontanaHaven2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think they’re quite as good as non-Spawning.

Hey this has nothing to do with this video but i was just watching 50 amazing facts and wanted to let you know that you should not eat bananas before working your bees. If they smell it on your breath it triggers their defense mode and they will become aggressive
@j.ericswede70843 жыл бұрын
Correct. I used to be a Commercial Beekeeper and never ate bananas before a day's work.

They look too small to be legal. You should leave the females for breeding. It would be good size for trout but those are juveniles.
@kevingriffin10303 жыл бұрын
These are Kokanee salmon that are spawned out and going to die. That’s why you can snag them
