So I didn’t have teriyaki to hand, or the full ingredients to make my own so I went with a simple honey and soy mix, and replaced the Asian greens with sugarsnap peas I had in the fridge. Love the cooking method of the salmon, came out perfectly cooked, and the whole dish is 10/10. Thanks!

Any notable difference in cooking the salmon in glass vs. aluminum baking sheet? I am curious as I always use a sheet pan. Great video btw!!
@NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW4 жыл бұрын
The glass holds the marinate better. A backing sheet will spread the sauce out too much and it will reduce too quickly. You could use a small pan to the same effect

I find it very difficult to cook salmon flaky and perfect.. does anyone have some tips?
@mrwriter864 жыл бұрын
How does it usually turn out for you, and what method are you currently using?
@euro200494 жыл бұрын
Ryan McCaffrey I pan fry my salmon and when I try to make it flaky it’s still not properly cooked in the center, and when I cook it longer it just gets dry and tough..
@mrwriter864 жыл бұрын
Air Cooler You could try to reduce the heat a little so the heat has more time to balance out in to the middle. If you’re cooking with the skin on and would like it crisp, then start with a medium to medium high heat, place the salmon skin-side down and drop the heat after 15-20 seconds to less than medium and don’t touch it. Cook on the skin side for about 60-80-% of the way, then flip to finish for the last couple or so minutes. If your pan is ovenproof, begin with the above but skin side for a few minutes and finish off in the oven at about 180 degrees c. Depending on the size of the salmon, probably around 6-10 minutes, but definitely check it after 4-6 to see where it’s at. This method should help because it’s a concentrated heat all round, rather than direct heat from underneath. Steve’s method in this video will give you great results, certainly more flaky than pan frying. Hope that helps!
