Yeah of course! They are really powerful and moving to see in person. Nothing really communicates what 2 to 4 million would be like (I've only seen thousands) and it is still Breathtaking. It's amazing what humans have done/Can do. Hopefully now we can correct some of the damage too

Thanks so much Alex. Love the outdoors videos. So neat to see those salmon swimming. I heard your comment the other day about as a kid you loving to look in any kind of water and just in awe about what's under that water. That was me as a kid and still now. Just so neat to see what's living in different water ways. Take care brother.

Had no idea we had carnivorous plants in the pacwest
@Fishtory3 жыл бұрын
Yes! They live high up on the Olympic and Cascade mountains, but the Olympics species also need saltwater fog or air, so they have to live withing 5 miles of water and get out competed easily, so they need to be sectioned off from the local plants, where as in the Olympic range, at altitude, they are the dominant plant and get enough insect food

Cool video thanks for sharing this with us👍 I have a question is Cyanobacteria a bad thing if so what can I do to get rid of it thanks.
@Fishtory3 жыл бұрын
Cyanobacteria CAN be bad...but small amounts in the substrate usually isn't an issue...only thick layers on the top of the water and plants. Either erythromycin in the tank (2 doses 3 or 4 days apart) or simply stirring up the substrate along the glass and adding more rooted plants will usually break up the stuff you see under the substrate

Note: some of the salmon that have their adipose fin are missing are actually clipped to signify that they are a hatchery fish. And also Pink salmon shown up every other year and if I remember correctly this year it’s estimated that 2.5 million are returning to the puget sound
@Fishtory3 жыл бұрын
Awesome thanks for the details! Yeah unfortunately most were clipped....but some still had them! And they counted something like 1000k using the ladder by 1pm or so when I was there...they said more than any time in a century!
