Is the Genesis the same 8mm drop as the s/lab Genesis? They keep saying it's the same midsole construction, but the dimensions don't appear the same.

Wish the S/Lab ultras/pulsars had pull tabs like the genesis which would make them more useable. Also that Salomon made a narrower lower volume version of the Genesis... sucks that every longer distance technical mountain capable shoe on the market only works for people with wider and higher volume feet, they are all simply too sloshy for me even after hours of running 😞 A 4-6mm drop would also be nice. I can dream....

Thanks for the vid. The Spine looks interesting. Did they provide a release and $? (Didn’t hear it for the spine) Looking for a sky runner with a built gaiter. Was thinking of going with XA Alpine 2, but Spine looks great.

Alpine 2 is quite firm, I put boomerang insoles inside to help. They are more scrambling shoes than running shoes.

Yea, I also have the boomerangs I was going to put in if I buy them. The race is the Meet the Minotaur which is a lot of scrambling and scree sliding.

I recently got the Merrell Agility Peak 5 Zero GORE-TEX ... seems similar to XA Alpine 2 .. the Merrell has more stack and looks great .. but both might be too warm for summer
