I have 2 pairs of the forces 2 gtx .... ranger green and coyote ! Love them ! Great boot with amazing ankle support, takes a beating and comes back for more ! 2 thumbs up !

Just a few questions. I have the Froces XA GTX MID and when I bought the same boots but in the high version, even being the same size, they feel much wider. Also, why both of them developed a squeaky sound coming from inside the sole at about 3 months of use?

My first pair of Salomon X Ultra 4 boots had the left boot so narrow it hurt my foot so bad I couldn't even walk across the room. I thought maybe it would break in so I tried to wear it out and into town, but had to go back home without the boot on! I contacted Salomon and they told me to pick any other style of boot and they sent me that pair free of charge. But the experience was so bad I will never buy another pair.

No mention of the Ultra?? I bought the non gtx one which is the only non gtx Ultra Mid in the entire Salomon lineup

Why do my X Ultra’s GTX quack like a duck when I walk? I know it’s happened to hundreds of others. And why are they so NARROW???

I use XA Forces Mid and they fit perfect from day one. I bought a pair of Speed Assault 2 in the same size and they are the narrowest shoe I've ever used. I even tried going up a size but it only got longer and not wider. I messaged them and they just said "it's different shoes", but I don't understand what they mean because when you design for a certain size. Isn't the 'model-foot' the same for whatever shoe you design? Why would to change to a more narrow shoe so the customer has to change their frame of reference depending of what line you buy from the same brand? Extremely annoying user experience. I also had that quack thing and I turned out that the sole had begun separating from the shoe, the glue had lost it's grip. Luckily I got a new pair but still, not the best user experience overall.
