last week I went to resort the first time on the sight 162w board after going years with an old and bad beginner board, it felt crazy to me I thought im unstoppable now... then i cought an edge and injured my shoulder. Moral of this story, stay cautious even if you're over-motivated :) Nice video dude

As beginner rider who bought this board in the summer earlier this year and has taken it up to the mountain 7 times already, I'd have to say I love it. My only gripe with it is that I feel less confident in choppier snow. Not sure if that's due to my skill level, the tech in the board, or the flex of the board, but you can definitely feel the choppier snow under your feet when riding it. Other than that it's amazing, the graphics are cool, going from edge to edge is super easy, I feel good going faster on the groomers, and I look forward to riding with it every week!

Bought the Salomon Sight 158W 2 weeks ago and already did couple of rides in Austria with it. I am trying to progress from beginner to intermediate and after riding a flat rocker for over 4 seasons, I bought the Sight for more locked-in turns but also still a comfortable, catch-free ride. Results: an awesome experience! took it to all types of slopes, from the long and mellow blue slopes where I could let it go flat and fast without catching an edge to the blacks where I could turn without judder or too much skidding. It just gave me a lot of confidence. I felt like the nose shudders a bit at high speed (over 60 km/h), but not something annoying. I ride it with the Flow Fenix bindings and the combo of mid-flex board/bindings and the step-in / easy entry is just awesome. Great piece of gear to progress indeed!

Thx for sharing. Can I ask you your hight and weight? Im considering the 156cm (I'm 183 cm weigh 85 kg /bootsize 43) Im totally a beginner and wondering if I should get the 158W or 156?
@georgeapostu8099
@georgeapostu8099 11 ай бұрын
@@jakobnowell7282 Of course, I am 1,83, 75kg, 43 boot size. I have Flow Fenix size L as bindings, for my Burton Moto Speedzone size 43 boots.
@pijusa7185
@pijusa7185 8 ай бұрын
@@jakobnowell7282 I'm about the same but a bit smaller by a few centimeters and lighter by 5kg and got 159. The weight range for the size of the boards is almost the same 159 - from 65 to 90 kg ; 156 - from 65 to 90 kg; 158w from 70 to 90 kg; I guess it's your preference or where you intend to use it, I got mine longer to carve on all-mountain and to have a bit of fun in the powder, if you planning to shred rails in a park I would go with a shorter one. And I think you don't need W if you use L size bindings (should fit 43 size boot, always check it) they fit well on a regular width Salomon sight.

Bought this board for the slick design. Yes, you can do many thing with it, but that’s true for 80% of the boards out there. The limit is normally your skill, not your board.

Bought this board today (159 cm). I'm 73 kilo, and 180cm height. I'm posses myself as an intermediate, do snowboard for 10 seasons for like 3-4 days in a row. Looked for tight board what i can use in good powder, but land on switch also. Will test it in a week, so if you find this comment some time later, don't hesitate to tag me and ask my opinion on it)

Hey guys I'll reply since I got this board anyway and rode it all season. Overall I think this is a great board in all conditions. Maybe not ice but one thing I love about this board is how light it is. It felt very easy to control in comparison to my capita outer space living 2019 of similar size. I ride 158/9 Wide. Slight difference from a true twin board with the bigger nose but not much of a difference if you ride switch. I didn't get too much experience riding switch this season tho so take that with a grain of salt. For me I give this board an 8.5 out of ten ( from the boards I've been on ). It fits my style. My height is 192cm Weigh between 180-190lbs

Having this board for whole 23-24 season in all mountain snow conditions and feel it's super friend ly for beginner to mid-level player on greean to blue lines but somehow not aggressive on black lines with real steep which need highly focus to handle the turns due to its flex. It does work fine in powder if you carefully ride on, but not really good at it, not easy on icy where I lost control for a couple times.
@MavericNorthcott

I strongly disagree that this board is a "mid flex" and "3/10 on butters." Its a soft flex and very buttery for a directional board.

2023 capita indoor survival review when?
@tannerjagim4241

Can anyone help me out? I’ve been looking for a board that is great for mainly groomed runs and some powder. I also will occasionally hit some jumps but I’m not a huge freestyle guy. I’ve been looking at the capita mercury as an option. Does anyone have any other options or anyone use the mercury and like it? Thank you. Right now I’m riding a m3 board so anything should be quite a bit better.

I’m looking for a surfy feel but I’m in northeast so I don’t think I can ride straight rocker for a one board. Wondering if a camber under foot and rocker in middle is my best bet?
@MavericNorthcott
@MavericNorthcott 9 ай бұрын
Absolutely not. Camber body. Rocker tip and tail. More edge hold, more liveliness. Better turn initiation, butter press zones. That flying V shape is not the vibe.

hi! i'm downgrading from hardboot stiff carve-board (got tired, want to have setup just for fun, relaxed ride on edges on slushed local resorts snow). No freestyle or freeride. Choosing between Salomon Assassin and Sight. Can you say something about my choice?
@pijusa7185
@pijusa7185 8 ай бұрын
The Assasin is great for park, ofc if you're good you will be able to take it anywhere, and it will be responsive, quite stable, and fun to ride, but for me, it's a bit more aggressive in terms of using it as an all can do board, and probably the main difference is your own skillset. Sight is more mellow but also less capable, which is enough if you're in a progressing beginner/intermediate phase. If you know what you're doing and understand your own equipment, plan to use it for a while, then choose The Assassin. hope it helped

You got it backwards. Not much you can do to an extruded base. It doesn't absorb wax but it's stronger. If it gouges you can fill it in. That's it though.

You must wax it more often if you want any speed and it damages easier needing Ptex filling often equals more maintenance not less. @@nicholasmardeusz5132
