I've probably been snowboarding 4 times in my life. Gave up trying 6 years ago and then got talked back into it by a buddy last week. After watching your (very helpful) review I picked this up and took it out yesterday. Loved it. I am in my late 40's and at this stage don't anticipate I will be doing a lot of advanced stuff but this board was a ton of fun and will probably be enough to keep me happy for a good long while.

Got this board and it's been great to ease back in after a 20 year break from snow sports. Edge to edge action is great and it's provided a great buffer as I've gotten my snow legs underneath me. Now that I've remembered how to carve it's great to have something that'll let me ease into side hits and some buttering!

I just bought mine for the seaon of of evo w/ Trigger X bindings. 3 season of snowboarding and I'm using this year to learn a LOT of new skill. Took this out 2 days so far and I absolutely love it. I saw this review after I rode it and I agree with you with it being really good for progression and a forgiving ride. Hit my first box and jump and stuck the landings. Novice moves but mad fun

I have this board in the 2020 model. It’s what got me back into snowboarding. It’s very mellow to ride. Gets a little chattery at higher speeds. I have now progressed and got better boards. But if I have a friend who is wanting to learn to snowboard or hasn’t been to the mountain in a while, I put them on this and they have a blast. It’s very easy to control. I’d say beginner to intermediate riders will love this board. I’d be interested to ride the newest version to see how the new tweaks have changed it. But for what it is, a beginner to intermediate, more mellow rider, this is a great deck.

Theres a ton of snowboard videos, but I seem to be comming back to this channel again and again for the quick and honest reviews! Thank you. So heres the deal I learned to snowboard 20 somewhat years ago on a nitro Hazzard 152 ,camber only! So here Iam 20 yeqars later and i cant see myself riding such a difficult board anymore, I'm between the Sight, and the K2 gateway pop, say the word! @Dan_Divebomb Жыл бұрын
I got the previous year model of that board. Not sure if much has changed, from their website it looks pretty similar stat wise, but the nose looks bigger now, but it might just be the colour making it seem so. I got it after an 11 year break to replace an old Head "True" from 2000-whenever where the camber has almost completely disappeared. I have not much to compare it against. I feel on the mountain it helped me pretty quickly back to my old shape and actually better than I used to ride as a teenager (probably the rockers saving my ass) and in the park I need to become much better for the board to be the reason I'm not progressing.

Looking for a beginner-intermediate board for my son, he rented a board last year, and also rode my old deck, and picked things up pretty well... Looking for all mountain use, groomers and tree runs, side hits and maybe try park features, but no extreme terrain or huge airs, hopefully something that will do powder decently as Lookout Pass our main spot usually has good snow conditions. A local shop has some solomon sight boards from last year on closeout sale...about 300... they also have a k2 gateway in the right size for like 315... and I have eye on the Arbor Formula rocker, last year's board is on sale pretty cheap. Of those what would you rank them? Or do u have another suggestion that would also be in a similar price range this fall? Cheers

Dear Angry Snowboarder, I have a question that I still have a hard time finding an answer to... what boards will perform well in banked slalom competitions? I thought that shorter and wide constructions like Capita slush slasher and bataleon partywave would be a good choice, but I'm not entirely sure (I have a slush slasher). I will be very grateful for an answer and pointing out some types 🤘
@AngrySnowboarder Жыл бұрын
You want something that can transfer a lot of power out of the tail when you're exiting the turn. It also has to have a quick initiation off the front foot but allow the user to disengage slightly from the front as the power and drive come from the middle back as well. If you're doing volume shifted you want something more like a Peace Seeker over a Slush Slasher or Party Wave. I'd never do a banked slalom on a PW I'd go for the Cruiser instead.

I am looking for something that can excel in park but where I can keep up with some pretty talented skiers on the harder slopes as well. I dont need to hit the biggest jumps, I just want to have some fun in the park and get that play throughout the day. Ive been looking at the salomon abstract but your review might have changed that for me haha.

Hey Angry, I've enjoyed the Sight this season but now my skills have progressed I'd like something a little stiffer with a faster base. What would you recommend as an upgrade to the Sight (all mtn/freeride category)? I don't really go in the park or ride switch. Mostly just groomers and ollie/180 side hits with the odd pow day. On my shortlist are the Dancehaul, Jones Frontier, Salomon Assassin, Amplid Singular and K2 Party Platter

The only two that stand out are the Frontier and Singular.

Been riding the 2012 version of this board ever since i bought it. The base is real slow in my opinion so i got some structure and now it's fast enough. I would recommend that because getting stuck having to unstrap on cat tracks is a real bummer. I always had to bomb every cat track until i got a good structure in the base. Beginners shouldn't feel the need to bomb anything...

Hello Angry, coming a little late on this but I love the review, searching my first board after renting 10-12 times the last season. I consider myself upper beginner, can ride comfortable on blue and a bit skidding on reds, still catching some edges too. My goal is to progress on carving steeper slopes, learn easy tricks, small jumps, butter etc and get more into the pows & trees, not much in the park. I wanted a "do-it-all" board that is forgiving errors but also something more than just entry level. The more I went through shops the more I got confused, they proposed me Burton Cartographer, Process, K2 Broadcast, Nitro Magnum. At the end I started to think I would choose the Salomon Assassin only for the graphics... Being realistic is this the right board for me? I'm 194lbs and I wear 12 Photon boots. Also you still recommend the Rhythm binding or maybe I can go with Hologram or District?
