I so agree with you about Redken.....love it, especially SEQ. Fun video. Love salon Centric
@AdrianClement8 жыл бұрын
I really love Kaliedacolor lightner because it's heat activated and so versatile as is SEQ, plus they come in four different tones with either 4 or 5 levels of lift, so I hardly ever have to tone, then allot of my clients like a SEQ clear glaze over their blonde to seal it, gloss it and protect it. I've tried other brands but I end up going back to these. I get such good results. Process time with Kaleidacolors is fast with heat and I find that to be less damaging, and used on questionable porosity without heat it is very gentle and easy to control tone. Being heat activated helps it process more even rather than having the part of the head where you started lighter than where you ended due to application time. I can totally get a caramel blonde out of a neutral tone kaleidocolors lightener with a 10-volume peroxide and have it come out the right color the first time. it is so reliable. That is my two cents.

It does as many retail the products. And depending on your markup, people think we should be selling it to them for what we pay. At least mine think that ;-)! And normally from the colleagues I know usual mark up is 50%.

Omg girl you are the bomb! I was in a head on collision six years ago with a drunk driver and long story short I can no longer do hair full time. I am very lucky to be walking again. Being a hairdresser is my passion and I miss it tremendously. Being told I may never walk again gave me the courage to work even harder for my recovery. With a metal plate in one leg and a metal plate in the other foot I can't stand on my feet a full 8hr shift. I have kept my license up to date and hope to get back in the salon after another surgery I have to have in the next month. Olaplex came out after my crash so all the new products that have come out in the last six years I have no clue how to use. I stumbled across your videos and I think I have watched them all as of Friday.. As a hairdresser we don't like to give away our secrets but I have to say I am absolutely thrilled beyond belief that you do these videos. I try to keep up with the latest products and I still do hair on the side but once I have my surgery I intend to get back in the workforce thanks to your tutorials I'll have some knowledge about the latest products and trends. Is there anyway you can do a tutorial on Olaplex like benefits and what exactly it does and how to use it? You have covered some but I'm a little confused as to why you say that if your using a 30vol with Olaplex it will drop it down to a 20vol. So why not just use a 20vol? I would like a little more literature on it but I can't afford the classes because as a result of the crash I am on disability. Having a bad situation like mine and taking away my ability to the things I love the most is the worst feeling in the world and I try every day to replace it with good and positive. Keeping up with the latest is very beneficial for someone like me and other hairdressers who can no longer do hair. Thank you again for what you do! You are an inspiration to me!❤️

@ozarkchinquapin60108 жыл бұрын
Hi Mandie, love your channel. I really need your help and some advice on how to approach my hair stylist with an issue I'm having. I have waist length hair which is naturally a mouse brown ashy color kind of like Drew Barrymore's roots color or similar to Lauren Conrad's natural hair color. For about 4 years I've gotten full highlights and my stylist "breaks the base" with what I assume is a high lift hair color between the foils. So at this point my hair is blonde. But I'm not really happy with it any more because it's way too dark on the underneath part and she seems to also shy away from pulling the bleach down to the bottom of my hair and I hate that. My ends look brassy all the time. When I told her to fix it, she really didn't do what I asked. There have been a few times she toned it way too cool also. And for the last few years it seems like my base color is way darker than it used to be but she says she's using the same color she has always used. The point is that I don't want super multi dimensional hair with dark blonde medium blonde stand with light blonde highlights. I don't want parts of my hair looking dark, muddy, or stripped. I want basically all blonde hair but I can accept a lit bit of dimension in the color at the ROOTS. What should I do or say?
@ozarkchinquapin60108 жыл бұрын
I also want to add that I like the light yellow blonde color, NOT white or overly cool toned hair and higglights. It's hard to get my stylist to understand this because I almost everyone likes the trendy "ashy" blonde look but I don't like that. I like the buttery blonde which is bright and has a nice pale yellow tone in the highlights and I don't mind my base tone being on the warm side as long as it's lifted to the creation level. Otherwise it appears too dark and brassy rather than a dark honey blonde base.
@suzettemiller94448 жыл бұрын
I'm curious about the answer to this question too. I have always wondered, if someone gets foil weave highlights, then they change their mind about how they want their hair colored or lightened - then how do they change their hair color without damaging it? Because you can't re-separate all the individual strands of hair for those that were lightened and those that weren't. Also interesting about the hair color - I think I am the only blonde I know who HATES anything remotely close to ash blonde hair. I very specifically only like neutral/yellow blonde on purpose, and I even like pale golden blonde hair better than any kind of ash blonde hair. No salon ever really believed me.

OMG. And why exactly are any hair products a controlled substance? Give me a break. Like to create fake "exclusivity" or some crap. Whatever. We can all fry our hair off with internet products on Ebay now. Mark it up and make it as expensive as you can when you resell it in your booth.

It's supposedly to protect the industry and not cheapen the products by not allowing anyone access to them. It's pretty unethical when you consider that consumers only have access to lesser quality hair products.
