IMAGINE: The Tennessee sun weighs heavily on your back as you slowly make your way through the town, your dry throat just aching for a local beer. You give a friendly nod to Mr. Robinson, the local blacksmith, and smile at a couple of kids as you pass them. Then all of a sudden you pass a saloon you’d never seen before in all your life. A faint whistling is drawing you to it like a moth to a flame. Most beautiful thing you ever did hear. As you enter you're greeted by a thick cloud of cigarette smoke and the smell of homemade beef jerky. You order your favourite beer. In the corner of the room is the man responsible for the beautiful music. Cowboy hat right down to his nose. Straw in mouth. Banjo in hand. You can’t help but smile while you have your first sip of beer as he fiddles and whistles away. See where I’m from we don’t need any “Mozart” or “ tchaikovsky”. Just a man at one with his banjo, plain and simple. Despite being in a new place you just had to chuckle and say, “Feels good to be home.”

Back when a saloon was four walls, one door, one window, a bar keep slinging whiskey, and a simple sign reading: SALOON. That's all that was needed back then. No flashy lights, no neon, no gimmicks and crap. If women then needed to find their husband, often times they knew where to look.
