Thanks for this great explanation, I am a sax player, I think understanding this will make my life much more easy when playing Latin music

Beginner drummer here and I have a gig at the copacabana in NYC and I'm new to Latin music and this video helped me a lot! Thanks!

great drummer, very musical in approach, I like the breakdown of who's going to be playing what and what to play he/she is/isn't playing that part. Very few british drummers get to play in authentic salsa environments (me included), so we become like beat collectors with no idea where to put them! cheers

Nice video! Very instructive. Unfortunately could rarely hear the bass drum. Would have been good to play its rhythm in isolation.

rumba clave ? not all the rumbas are in 3/2 .Not all the sones are in 2/3 ,so don talk about "rumba clave or son clave " .don t talk bullshit. by other hand the guy plays very nice.

I'm pretty sure this is a samba. The clave is Brazilian, not Caribbean. I'm sure you could play this behind a Salsa combo, but it is not the correct pattern. Songo works better.
