I´m 63 and marked by the music of "my time". But this is of outstanding class... love it!

It's all so low key beautiful. Lead singer underplaying emotion, perfectly phrasing, and interpreting with conserved poignancy of the experience rather than the dramatic and hanging back to allow entire flow of band and their interpretations makes it especially beautiful. His vocals couldn't be better suited and used to fit the song better.
@birdyluisa4 жыл бұрын
Also the out of tune guitar is another perfectly considered piece of making this hauntingly beautiful.

Could it be I was the one that you held so deep in the night On the back staircase you fell to your knees with tears in your eyes All that you suffered, all the disease You couldn't hide it, hide it from me All alone scared in your room, would you swear there's nobody home On the bed laying awake as you prayed he'd leave you alone I'll let the darkness swallow me whole I need to find you, need you to know I'll be your friend in the daylight again There we will be, like an old enemy Like the salt and the sea And they wrote all these prescriptions, they wrote me off Like a heel Yeah, the doctors with their medicine left me To rock in my filth…

The Lumineers aren't the most popular band in the world, but those that have seen them live know how truly good a group of talent they are...Meanwhile you turn on the grammys and they're handing out awards for women rapping about their WAP...good stuff. I know the Grammys are all about what's popular, but man it gets worse every year...guess I'm just getting old.

Sucks to become old and cranky! Grin! It's a fact of life! You'll be alright!
@tyslink3 жыл бұрын
@@delshoemaker7616 I'm not bothered by getting older at all...being young pretty much sucked! I was always broke, lived in crappy apartments, and never had time/money to do much anything other than go to work and school...it was a good life experience and helps me appreciate what I now have, so I'm not cranky either. I just think what's considered popular music now is shiite! lol

To give an intoxicant a persona is quite interesting. If I was alcohol I wouldn't like to just be demonized. I 'd have both good and bad affects on people. I would want to be loved, but would also understand those that grow to hate me. I would understand. No matter how much I try to be a friend.

Wts the meaning of “like a salt and the sea” ?
@manaman96254 жыл бұрын
“Like the salt and the sea” is basically talking about two things that are are inseparable. Think about ocean water. You can’t imagine it not being salty. It’s never going to be fresh unsalted water. The salt and the sea are always together. There’s nothing that will ever separate them ever. It’s not the first song to reference that. But it’s one of the few.
