I always assumed that domestic cats were selectively bred to be cuter, but apparently they look exactly the same as they used to (minus perhaps the variety of colors). Mother nature has crafted them over hundreds of thousands of years into the perfect hunter, and the form they chose just happens to look like a cartoon character.

leopardus genus is also considered to be more basal than felis. they also can hybridize, resulting in something called safari cat. also fun fact: leopardus have 36 chromosomes, felis - 38 and safari cats - 37.

Idk if it's the same animal, but I've seen that fur pattern in silver gray and black around the argentinian Patagonia. People calls them epuyeneros and I've seen them kept as pets around the area of Bolsón, Epuyén, Lake Puelo. Gorgeous cats in any case

I love love LOVE how Danielle narrates. Its super vibrant and informative for not just the casual watcher but is truly all ages, me and my daughters watch them together and I share them with my mother.
