yikes. these guys farming practices are not good. cover crop, keep everything growing and get off synthetic fertilizer. Avoid irrigation by using your cover crop to capture that water and get your organic levels up. One of the saddest thing in farming is how expensive it is to become a farmer. you deal with multiple generation of farming and not everyone has the talent or patiences for it. so they rent out there land and work a bit of it. then you get this crap. instead of making the changes that need to happen in farming practices you just see everyone doing MIckyD.. farming from a bottle.

Plant saltbush and succulents to rid the salt. You must plant groves of trees to lower the water table . It's a 25 year fix

To start with, stop tilling. Turning the soil then leaving the soil exposed basically destroy the quality of the soil. Switch to no-till growing.

part of the problem is people..... who are multiple generation farmers who may or may not have actual talent at farming. Who have grown accustom to the MickyD style farming instead of really listening to the land. So, few people who have actual talent can afford to get into farming. It's just so dang expensive.

Lol how long will that plastic drain tile last. What happens to our health when that breaks down in the soil. Listen to Dr. Jaradat, change the plant not the soil. Piddling around in the muck is what that amounts to.
