There really wasn't a gap between their 1st and 2nd album. Dec 86 The debut came out which didn't have Push It. They released Push it as a single in 87 then re-released the album and added the single which hit charts. Fall 1987 They went on Fat Boys Wipeout Tour. Fat Boys were on fire. Pepa was dating Markie D at the time. Tour was over and now its 1988. They work on the new album which was released summer 88.

Soren, I agree....you really do your homework! I appreciate that you don't over-talk the artist in interviews. You allow them to express themselves and you ask great questions and as an interviewer, and you don't cuss. You keep it professional & dignified on your end as a business person. Very commendable. I really enjoyed hearing Salt express things from her perspective. Very interesting information. I didn't know Pepa west Indian. Cool fact. S&P were a phenomenal female group. Definitely paved the way for other females in the hip hop game. I have so much respect for them. Glad they are doing well also.

Hurby Luv Bug went to Howard University in Washington DC but I don’t think he graduated...so “My Mic Sounds Nice “ and “Shake Your Thang” with EU...has that Go Go sound for a reason ...Salt was dating Hurby in the early days..especially during those first two albums...they worked at Sears with Kid & Play and Martin Lawrence ...Kid had Family from DC...I even saw him at a Safeway with his relatives in the Southeast area of the city during the Summer in the early 2000’s...Martin Lawrence is originally from the Washington DC/ Prince George’s County , Maryland area...I heard stories from relatives who said Salt & Pepa used to get their hair done in Washington DC and they would shop for clothes in Georgetown...Heavy D also spent a lot of time in Washington DC ...during the late 80’s to the early 90’s...then you had artists like Redman, 2 Pac and Biggie performing at Howard University’s homecoming ...Salt is still beautiful...I used to love watching her in videos with those sexy outfits on!

Congrats Soren on this legendary interview! I noticed Salt mentioned “The Fever” AKA Disco Fever. It would be cool if you could interview Sal Abietello owner/ promoter of The Fever. Not to mention a day one supporter of Rap/Hip Hop. He was influential in taking rap to Radio City Music Hall. Helping to create The Tin Apple rap contest that lead to the Fresh Fest. Which the movie Krush Groove was based on. ( He’s on all Social media as The Fever ). Just a suggestion. Once again great work. Peace.

Soren is a NOT A CULTURE VULTURE but a true contributor to Hip-Hop even though Soren is White. The difference between Soren vs Vlad TV is night and day. I no longer follow VLAD TV when he refused to apologize properly to Nation of Islam, and Lord Jamaar. Also, yes Hip Hop is nationwide, but the original source of Hip Hop Music IS New York. New York ran hip hop alone from about 1979 to 1989. its the damn truth.
