Thanks. But nitric acid formula is HNO3 but in most equations its written 2HNO3. Can you please explain this
@MrJansenTan2 жыл бұрын
Yes the formula of nitric acid is HNO₃, but the ‘2’ is called a coefficient, it is used to balance the chemical equation. When writing chemical equations, we need to ensure the same number of atoms on each side of the arrow. This is due to the conservation of mass.

I thought aqueous ammonia is NH4OH
@MrJansenTan2 жыл бұрын
Some sources will refer to aqueous ammonia as ammonium hydroxide. The reason why aqueous ammonia is preferred is because ammonia is a weak alkali, which only partially dissociates in water. At the molecular level, most would exist as ammonia molecules instead of ammonium and hydroxide ions.

For making silver chloride, why do we need sodium chloride? Will HCl work?

any solution containing chloride ions would work, hence HCl can also be used
