Be careful flying your drone on the salt river, especially up near the “water users recreation area” as there are nesting bald eagles in the area and they will abandon their nests if bothered too much.
@LivinginArizona3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct, always be respectful of wild animals. When we fly the drones it is in open spaces.The drone used is also quiet and small.

As someone that lives right down the street from there, done about 25 river trips this year. Not once have there not been plenty of horses while paddle boarding the river. Will out out there tomorrow. Also, passes are $8 at just about any local store/gas station. It is $12 at the site because of the kiosk fee. Can also get yearly passes, or use your America the Beautiful pass for access.

While tubing one early morning a herd of horses crossed right in front of me. The adults went up onto the bank leaving a foal behind. I had to stop and get off my tube so I wouldn't run into the baby. The adults grazing on the bank looked casually over to see what was going on then went back to grazing. The foal stood for a couple minutes looking at me then followed the adults. Most exciting adventure ever!!

There is actually large salt deposits on Fort Apache which is upstream from the valley of Phoenix. Thats how it gets its name. All rivers have some sodium in them but that is how it got its name.

It's not very common though you do see a few. These lakes get VERY busy on weekends and I imagine it wouldn't be a lot of fun getting waked out all the time by the power boats. Apache would be your best bet, on a weekday, and have a backup motor.

I hope the Verde isn't brown due to sedimentation - which indicates poor water quality from too much bank erosion. It tends to kill freshwater mussels.
