I love tubing too! I do it nearly every day during the summer. I also take hand paddles. They are used by swimmers.

My favorite tip was probably to bring an extra tube. I never considered that but it would suck having to make it to the end of the float by holding onto someone else's tube.

What's the best & longest river to float? Like laid back rules & party scene.
@britthernandeztips Жыл бұрын
Texas state tubes in San Marcos. They don’t have a can ban, big party scene on the weekends, and we stay out there for like 7 hours by pulling off to the side to swim and hangout throughout the float (on non private property of course)

Awesome tips! I’ve never been tubing before, but I am going very soon to the Comal. Where do you keep all your extra items when you’re on your tube like your backpack? Do you have it with you or is it on another tube?
@britthernandeztips7 ай бұрын
Omg what a great question! I have it sitting next to the cooler in the cooler tube, i make sure it’s clipped to that tube with a carabiner for extra security. If you are going to the Comal River- please check the company website that you’re going to to see if it’s a CAN BAN. That changes a lot of things you can/can’t bring.

@britthernandeztips Жыл бұрын
I’m SO happy you stumbled upon it and it helped you out! Well if you float straight through with no stops, you can go to Texas state tubes in San Marcos. Or you can go to white water sports in new braunfels and do the “horseshoe option”

@@tudeddy7026 I go to Texas state tubes in San Marcos Texas. Majority of the companies down here and in new braunfels run this way. But call the company first to double check if it’s your first time. And of course! Here to help! I hate going places not knowing what to do or what I should have. Lol.
@o.o-vt1rc4 ай бұрын
If you go in a group without a company, park enough cars at the down river destination to get everybody and their stuff back up river where the float started. Or vice versa, everybody park at the destination and take a few cars up river to put in. On newer cars, keep the key fobs dry, or use the valet key, if equipped.

What about dogs?
@britthernandeztips4 ай бұрын
Dogs are allowed at most rivers (but check each company’s website that you are going to). Take plenty of stuff for them too! They should have their own tube (preferably a cooler tube with water in it so they can stay cool and get in and out of- they shouldn’t swim the entire time or stay on the tube the entire time. And take a bowl to fill with drinking water for them. Dog shoes are also great to have bc of the super hot pavement and rocks! And if you don’t have a life jacket for them; at least have a chest harness rather than just a leash. Just my recommendations! :)
