After a week at sea we reach Bahia de los Muertos in Baja California Sur. We had no idea where we'd make landfall but reconnecting with friends on a beach we think of fondly sounded perfect 👌
Thanks for watching!
p.s. I try and reply to as many comments as I can but we are still so so busy so please do not take it personally 💕
Much love!!!

Ruth and garrett, please pay attention to this , it might save you and your boat , Ive been going to the sea of cortez 50 years. My boss who originally took me panickly warned me if the santa ana winds start , imidiately head for a cove, dont hesitate, I should have taken him more seriously , I eventually had a charter boat there , I got caught in it in 2008 in a sport fisher , a much faster boat than yours, we almost didnt make it, 10' seas in minutes , It will put you on the bottom before you make shore . It goes from glassy to hell faster than you can get to safety .

The Sea of Cortez cruising season starts in April. The fact that you built your own boat is amazing in itself. But seasons don't change so you have two choices, stay put or head to Puerto Escondido. LA Paz has an excellent local cruisers vibe and Puerto Escondido is a distance to stores. I'd stay put for hurricane season.

I just realized i hate boats. That boat isnt small but the sails leave no room for an awning or chairs on the deck, being stuck on waves for 10 to 14 days. At the mercy of nature and in really bad luck if the boat fails, hits a submerged tree or something.

Some people do come home from a higher calling job to watch KZbin that someone else worked for. Sitting in the comfort of their home they take it upon themselves to look down on the people that are “not working” by generating content ( not everyone can tell a story), the exhausting job of editing. I worked most of my life. I have worked jobs I loved. And some that I hated so much that it affected my health. But if you could have told me when I was 17 that if I just had a life that was entertaining enough to video that I could make a living one day from merchandise, ad revenue and sponsorships. Well I would have told you were crazy.

You couldn’t be more wrong, my friend. Everything they have they’ve worked for, learned the skills for, cut down the trees and sawn the lumber for. Redeviva was built and created with their own skills, their own hands, their own backs and their own sweat. What was bought was from a not particularly sizeable pot of cash that they got from the sale of their previous boat and that was the result of having restored and flipped a succession of previous boats over a few years, done while they were also working other jobs. They had a goal and through years of damned hard work they’re achieving it. For you to knock them about their life choices bringing them to where they are now smacks of a level of mean spirited jealousy that speaks volumes more about yourself than about them. Achieving freedom in life is about choices, goals and possessing the necessary depth of determination to achieve them. It is also about both grace and kindness. Life has a funny way of repaying in kind and in equal measure, which is a concept well worth thinking about. If you wish to change your life it is entirely in your own hands, but dumping on others will not move you one ten thousandth of an inch closer to happiness, it will only perpetuate your own dissatisfaction.

@@7novalee Life has a habit of rewarding hard work and application, along with grace and kindness. What you’re watching is exactly that, no silver spoons or vast inheritance, just the results of having had a dream of building a boat themselves and having had the determination to make it real.

Born and raised on an Island, I naturally owned several 'used' boats and enjoyed refurbishing and customizing them. At 77, I no longer sail, but enjoy watching 'Build Videos'. I'm sure you are both having a great time, but for me, watching someone else sail about is like watching people drive their cars to different places. I really liked your early videos but the endless sailing isn't my cup of tea... Sorry guys... 😟

If this content seems like watching people drive their cars, then you’re not paying attention. No need to apologize to them for your disappointment. They know who they are and they don’t need your validation. Please, if you have nothing positive to say to such beautiful people, who choose to share their lives with us, then just quietly move on to something else. They are not here to serve your needs.
