Wow what a production from the opening. Setting to the music with the narrative, like you said Tauri it's like a mini film followed by the darken guard chorus. It was great

Again a nice reaction, Tauri! I loved to watch you watching it :D And yes: a bit of emotion got lost in translation. It is a good translation but also had to fit to the music. So it seems like a good compromise, not more, not less :)

Bilingual me approves both versions, each one nails it in their way. I would LOVE to know who did the English narration, he did a killer job with that. Sadly, SM do not mention him in the credits, they only said during the premiere that it's not the original German speaker. And funny, Hansi is actually more recognisable in English, probably because almost every BG song is in English. He sounds more comfortable singing to me. 🙂

Saltatio Mortis haben das selber in Englisch übersetzt. Deshalb steht auch niemand in den Credits von wegen Übersetzung.

@@angelaschlicksupp2102 ja, aber wer spricht den englischen Erzähler?
@angelaschlicksupp2102Ай бұрын
@@Andy_from_de der selber Herr, der auch in Deutsch es gelesen hat. So wurde es auf jedenfall mal von den Jungs von SaMo bzw von Alea erklärt.

Goosebumps as hell! ❤️🤘 And as I understand the German original lyrics: Very nice translation ❤️

Yup that does make sense. I've noticed the same thing with Fuerschwanz. Different languages have a unique flow and feel all their own. It's not unlike harsh vocals. I don't necessarily understand it all, but if it works the message comes through. Great song, great reaction!

Wow! That's in fact a very good translation! I´m a german native speaker, and who ever made the english version did an amazing job! As you said, sometimes there is no "word to word" translation that would sound "good". This one is very close to the german lyrics, with some "adjustments" to give it a smooth flow🖤 The easter egg in the end was actually very british before🥴

It was like a scene from the Last Kingdom but with a badass back track playing. Loved it like the other version😊 Thanks T..

Man! Truly a mega production! I remember seeing your reaction in the German version! Or in the first production! And maybe that took away your expectations for this second in English! For having already watched the show! And what a production spectacle! Holds our attention from start to finish! Thank you for bringing this wonder to the reaction, now in English! Still, I need the translator! Man! The red suits you very well! Enhanced your beauty! Excellent production of the music and the presenter! To the next! 💙🌷👋

Hi there, Tauri - just wanted to let you know that "Darkenguard - Directors' cut" was just released, with lots of not yet used footage from shooting the video. Or in other words, the movie most of us always wanted to see. (To be clear: It is in fact a narrated movie.) Don't know whether it works as a reaction, but I suppose you would not want to miss it anyway- Greetings and all the best!

Uh, great that you did another reaction on this song. It is basically the same video after all. Very much appreciated! ☺ The translation was very good, IMNSHO. But I can see how you might like the German version better - it has a different sound to it, and I think it might add to the mistery that one has to deduce vom Video and captions what is going on (if one is not German that is). Part of my family is from Slovenia, with me not speaking their language, so I am very used to being somewhere and not understanding anything - it's some sort of special experience, as you have to realy much more on visual clues and small hints to figure out what is going on, and every thing you see or witness could hold another layer of information you are not even aware of - in a sense it is immersive in a different way. Maybe that's similar to what you feel? Anyways - I loved both versions of the song and wanted thank you once more for covering it so extensively! II think it deserves every attention it can get. ❤

i like both versions. but i agree with you. its like with books and movies. in 9.9/10 times its best in the language it was originally written in

Did you hear thath in the more quiet parte were the main singer is singing over the chorus they turned it around in german ist Alea then Hansi ind the english version its the other way around
@LadyYuna016 ай бұрын
That's actually not true. In the studio version of the German version it's also Hansi taking the lead, but they changed it for the music video since it would've been weird to hear someone singing a close-up singing part who's not seen. The reason they didn't do both versions for the English translation as well is because they couldn't re-shoot the music video.

I like this version very much, but the german one hits home more for me. Don`t know if it´s because I´m german but I feel it`s more about the flow of the song, that sounds more natural to me in the german version

I also like the German version better. The pitch of the lyrics somehow fit better to this song sung in german. The pitch is a bit bit higher and clearer.
@xxJOKeR75xx6 ай бұрын
The english translation by youtube was slightly more accurate actually. This english version is taking a little more liberty in interpretation to make it flow better. It's still very close though. But i agree - the German version has that little something....i guess it really counts when an artist is really comfortable in the text and can just feel the song. I mean Hansi is almost better here as he's at home singing in english. But SaMo is just used to singing in german more.
@marcushempel17926 ай бұрын
It’s funny but Hansi‘s voice is much more recognizable in the english version, even for me as native german. We use to hear him singing mostly in english 😂

The "savage" sound of the German language and the prejudices make German the better choice here. Rammstein also benefits from this peculiarity.
