I hope, at some point, they get escape pods working. Crashing on a planet with some emergency supplies only increases immersion and an additional gameplay loop in and of itself. Wild fauna will kick it up a notch.

Do you SaltEMike really think that if and when this thing is in the PU that it will be manned and operated as it should be? I don't think so. Unless you have a body of people who AGREE to fill every role, the Idris will NEVER be operated (outside of NCP ones) as it is meant to be.

The gym is a piece of world building imo. Does the game need to be realistic and simulate muscle gain/loss? No. However knowing it is a priority on a long deployment military vessel helps ground us in the world.

This game is destined to fail because they are designing the combat around a BF4 model, which has been evident since Star Marine. You cannot build a game with 1-life elimination around a RESPAWN SPAM MODEL.

I just wish they would once come up with a pve event. i absolutely hate to pvp and on laggy servers as well it makes it 10x worse. And a pricetag behind it = hello modders and cheaters. Please CIG waht about trading or mining or exploring events? Dont forget your PvE community completely.

Maybe they can add a color holoview game mode in Arena Commander where you can strip away layers of the hull and walls to get that view.

BF 2142 Titan mode, each team had a Titan in the air, you had to take over ground sites that would fire on the enemy titan to lower it's shields, as soon as the shield was gone, you could launch up to it and board it, goes from wide open vehicular combat to tight corridors close quarters. Boarding party has to make it to the engine room to disable the engine. It was SO sick and no game has ever come close to it, perhaps until now...

There's orgs with like 15 of these and 5 Javelins and a billion smaller support ships all dreaming of large fleet battles. There's a need for these servers to handle like 5000 people zooming around in a battle space shooting thousands of projectiles everywhere. If CIG pulls it off, amazing. I just feel a little nervous they won't. Even if dynamic server meshing works out, it's going to need to be dynamic AF. Like with everything Star Citizen, maybe my imagination is too small, or maybe I'm just being realistic. I truly don't know.

Data Meshing, Data Replication for Hot Standby Servers. This will fix the game. A server crashes and the hot standby takes over flawlessly.

Why would you need a safespace in a ship? lol wtf? A ship like this is usually owned by an Org. Orgs won't just grief eachother as their are huge social consequences for that like getting kicked out of the Org. There are times where the devs should create spaces that are anti-griefing but the interior of a ship should not be that space.

i would love an Jared interview mike. not about the game but about Jared I have been watching him for ~10 years now and although i wasn't the big gest fan of his at the outset. it is so interesting to see how he has grown in his role as a presenter. All the chat saying the ship is too dark, you’ve never been on a naval vessel. The lighting is fine. What is sad though is the server integrity. Half the time the doors on my ship now will barely open.

i think the ATC seat would be controlling the thrust breaker wall things on the floor and the firing/release thing for ship launching as was shown in the i held the line video where the ship was full throttle then gets released. i guess it would be a part time role realistically but there is also not much of a reason to just fly out slowly especially outside of combat. still it was nice they made a video since i knew the event was gonna be a shitshow. i didnt even bother trying the event even though my org did manage to get on an idris for a short time until they all 30k'd

Imagine the compelling gameplay of sitting in one of those furys for your entire Saturday waiting for the one moment when that order come and then you get blasted 30 seconds after deployment. The whole snub swarm is cool, but I don't think real humans will be compelled to play it outside RP or machinima events.

I guess cuz its a game and they need to make things wider for players to move around, but damn those bunks are widely spaced lol. A real ship would have like a foot or two between them most likely. Crew comfort is not the most important thing on a warship

@mike you should check out some sort of summary of Titan mode. I didn't play that game either but what I've seen is everything I want in a combined arms sci fi game. Unfortunately I didn't know about it until after it had already died. I'm really hoping CIG finds a way to create a game mode like that.

It's interesting that in the list of blockers for release of the Idris, SQ42 release was not mentioned. I wonder if they feel confident that it will be out before those other systems come online? I know Jared loves it when we read into these little details.

How this ship is unfinished shows the state of sq42. So im guessing 2 years before we see sq42. Probably 2 yesrs before we see stanton and pyro together as well
