.23 is the most I played since my first pledge two years ago in that I played for a good two weeks consistently. I remember grinding with the vulture to get four or five ships on my wishlist all with different functionality or “gameloops” until I found there was absolutely nothing to do with them or the loops that did exist were not interesting or complete. I think the thing that I liked most was calling for my ship, watching the hanger doors open to the stars and it being a flight simulator for space but then the novelty of that ran out as most of the locations have mixed performance and graphics and most of all I wish they took a more realistic approach with their ship design and not such cartoony ones.

If they didnt want funding to plateau then they shouldnt have spent the past year destroying all the moral the community had. MM split the community because a lot didnt like how it slowed the game down. Then came along the cargo update has less people that like it than MM (not to mention the ATL$ debacle) as it showed how bad a lot of "cargo" ships are at carrying cargo - oh and it slows down the game. Ship "balance" decisions are another thing that got people up in arms, from the corsair and the redeemer changes to decisions made during the development of the CL thats now making that ship miserable to use too. And to top it off you constantly have stuff like the "speculation" citizen thing too. All these things popping off in the space of a year. Honestly unless IAE is bad in terms of funding I dont see CIG getting their act together and stopping marketing, balance/"gameplay experience" teams, and tier 0 implementations of stuff from further ruining the game.

Lastly, a lot of people that wanted the Zeus already bought it them in the first round. I don't believe the Galaxy was sold until November so you can't really include that one. I dont know how quick it now take to create a ship from scratch, but i remember hearing that the price in manpower to create a ship in SC would be around 150 000usd for small ships and up to 750 000 for huge ships so from their funding try to estimate how much mney goes in ship developpement and creation probably a good 20 percent of the budget, plus if you count that they probably take i will estimate 50 percent of the budget for SQ42... your lest with 30 percent of the total funding for creating every other thing around SC.. its less than that i forgot to think about server cost and their office cost.

I purchased a Starlancer (cargo), but discovered it was missing a feature another version had (hangar) so I got a refund. It was also missing a Captains Quarters (no version has). ;-)

The StarLancer wasn't that hot, it was just "Ok", the ground vehicle felt like a joke, the Zeus was decent so I am guessing most of their sales were from that. The Galaxy felt way more compelling in the previous year. I feel like some big numbers are on their way for IAE though, plenty of people want to buy the Pioneer after CitizenCon, and that's a big boy.

Yeah, IMO medway tiers 1, 2, 3 is a jab at backers wallets tbh. They could be speed at which a bed functions, very gimmick and marketing oriented but bed can or can't is a jab at backers. Also what you see as intrepid could be something else? Physically looking really big mate, it could be a vanduul, I would not be surprised.

$8M for Oct it to much money for CIG. They have to finally deliver. People notice that things are going badly and hopefully they will not spend more money to CIG. But that ultimately means too: game over
@Mullins23Күн бұрын
I think they are making for more money than they should be but I also think it is crazy for people to be spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on ships. I used to save up a "monthly fee" and spend it on ships/CCUs to support the games development. I stopped giving them new money and don't think anyone else should either. I want NPC crew, private servers, and mods.
@LlamaTheoryКүн бұрын
The game is just a fucking slog to play now, even when you get lucky and have a bug-free experience. With nothing truly new added in forever there's really no reason at all to play it - and by extension spend money. Frankly I've felt this way for years now, but I always had some glimmer of hope that all the new tech would really turn things around... but all indications and evidence are pointing to 4.0 being a fucking unmitigated disaster. I think a lot of people are feeling exactly the same way I am, and the wallets are indefinitely closed till this game actually gives us a reason to play it. I have managed to sell off most of my shit over the years, but I still am in for ~$500. I really don't think I'm ever going to see a real return on that money in a version of Star Citizen that I actually think is fun, and I guess I've made my peace with that... but fuck if that isn't a bitter pill to swallow. The hype is dead, and CIG's naked attempts at extorting players with existing fleets to cough up more money by fucking with their purchases are just gross at this point.

Dosnt npc crews invalidate all the people saying ships are not p2w, also good this game needs less whales so they can start locking in
@First_ChapterКүн бұрын
@@coldshock5181 Many years ago CIG said that NPC crews would be part of SC and that each additional starter package on an account would translate into an NPC crew member. Now, CIG's news is that NPC crew will be absent from 1.0 (whenever that comes; maybe 2026 concurrent with the first part of SQ42?) and who knows when the feature may appear. Hence long-term backers with a good memory are critical and writing they will give no fresh money to CIG. If that commitment holds then CIG has to replace all such lost revenue. But if newer players see buying ships as P2W and so won't spend those people won't replace lost sales. Cosmetics are too cheap to bridge the gap. A subscription won't be acceptable unless SC is reliable and, additionally, multiple comments on multiple creator channels suggest long-term backers will walk if a subscription model is implemented.

Another thing regarding new ships being pushed with no gameplay behind them. I'd rather their developers get completely split up. More going to capital ship development, one team doing ships and the rest of the developers working on the GAME and GAMEPLAY. With the ship designers AND the GAMEPLAY designers having weekly meetings discussing what each is doing, possible gameplay loops and how the game designers can work with ship designers to create cool new stuff. Have one mega patch per year right before Citcon. I bet they'd sell more and with patch cycles WELL TESTED, the PU wouldn't be a smoldering mess. Right now theres no reason to even have the game installed just like what happened with 3.18 because it doesn't run for more than 5 minutes at a time. CIG is pumping out these garbage ships, with no gameplay loops people are supposed to create their own content for in a server that might survive for 10 minutes.... Normal players take hours to setup their roleplaying ships to do a single mission... CIG is so out of touch. Management needs to get completely shakin up AGAIN.

For me the time of buying ships is over and the time to play is now and I think the community is reflecting that. We want to see a focus on game building not ship building. Move ship teams to back track and revamp older ships. Fix old ship designs. Give us a game.

Does anyone really think that ORGs over 300 players once integration enters SC is really going to happen? Test even in the best case of a 2000 player shard could consume it completely. Now bring in the end-game which CIG talked about, Does that make sense? My opinion is NO. Test will be broken up as 25K is too big.

I just can’t listen to anything Montoya says once you know his one of those krypto video people, buy this “krypto and we can all make money”. Once you understand that mentality it completely makes sense that he wants you to invest in these star ships. Don’t give cig money for star ships that do nothing. Give them money for making a game. Reward them for adding orgs 2.0 or base building game play, or reputation that works. Don’t fund other ship that does the same as another concepted ship that they just haven’t made yet. My biggest fear is cig doubles down on sq42 even more when it’s not that that has funded this game. It’s the pu.

A plateau is to be expected at some point, that shouldn't be cause for alarm, hopefully they find their stride and stop having to spend energy resizing and opening offices. Shrinking might be cause for concern, but it's too early to tell. Layoffs this year weren't linked to a lack of revenue, as far as we know. On-fucking-ward.
@senn4237Күн бұрын
The alarming part should be the huge drop in new citizens in the past two years. We have plateaued at the number of players in the game as it stands now. Which means further funding will rely on squeezing the current player base harder and harder. If those players stop buying new ships then they will be in trouble eventually.
