When us northerners use crab for fishing bait we use we call them peelers that's the state right before they're ready to molt to turn into a soft shell crab I've never heard of anybody using any other state for a hard shell crab to be in in order to make good fishing bait. They've been using peelers all my life and I'm 62. I cannot wait to get down there to Louisiana to try some fishing your channel has re-inspired my son's and I to put a trip together hope I can bump into you bud. Happy fishing
