It’s the dry rock it suck’s really. I’ve seen it every time with a New tank setup! I use some rock from another tank to help accelerate, help the bacteria seed much quicker

Yes QT but I think it’s best to add smaller more appropriate sized fish. Smaller Reef style fish w/ Tons of color

Well I am not a professional at this but I would have kept the original set up with the following adjustments: 1. general cleanup of the gravel and cyano; 2. add 6 to 8 peppermint shrimp; then hit the aiptasia with AiptasiaX to weaken them so that the shrimp will readily eat them; 3. make weakly partial water changes for a couple of months. 4. I would consider removing one of the larger fish.

All Good suggestions. The other worry is the fish disease which would prevent adding anymore fish.

There's a lot of discussion I've ready about nitrates levels for LPS tanks. I've seen ranges including 10-15ppm and even 1-5ppm. What are your thoughts the appropriate nitrate range (if I'm already keeping my phosphates between .08-.1)?

I like 5ish. You can run lower if you have a mature well established tank or supplement with amino acids.
