Briliant stuff mate so good to see you catching the bass!! What a way to spend your morning! You hit the nail on the head mate you said it's not always about fishing. Fishing can bring you closer to nature. Your bang on mate there has been so many tines I've gone fishing early mornings amd watched the the most spectacular sun rises all the nature about I just sit and stare. There is so much more to fishing then just fishing. Fantastic video mat look forward to the next one tight lines 🎣🎣🎣

Cracking video Matt, well done and thank you. Like the last commenter, I've hardly been out fishing this summer, but planning to get down to East Devon or Dorset this Sunday (weather forecast pretty bad!), or next (weather looks much better). If I can get anywhere near the fish you caught in this vid I shall be over the moon.

Another informative video!😊 I'm one of those occasional anglers who needs to travel. Getting out more though, so hopegully I'll find the fish this autumn! There are risks associated with rock hopping with an incoming tide and I don’t take any. Good to be reminded to keep moving. My old gardening boots with Snowbee studs give me confidence splashing about.

My local area is in the Rainham & purfleet area of the Thames, I've not caught any fish but did snag a small crab on a diving lure, I've tried many different lures but with no luck, apart from that it's nice to chill by the river, I'm still gonna persist fishing the river, probably try a different area along there, I'll try near the jetty's, piers & other structures next time.

Always learn something from watching your videos; the enthusiasm, the philosophy and the good cheer. Just returned from Ireland where I managed to get 4 short 2 hour sessions. 2 rises but didn’t connect. Not a seagull to be seen and heard that there has been no mackerel. Strangely enough the bass fishing is said to be good, but not for me. Pretty sad as I was trying out a new rod and reel and was hoping to Christen it with, at the very least, a mackerel! Tight lines

Great video yet again, lovely weather! Bass love Sandeels whether they are in your area or not, they just go for them, in the DNA I guess. Something I've noticed regarding Bass movements and catches is that on the bigger tides, they cover more ground so more likely to find you as much as you finding them but they aren't in front of you for long at all. On smaller tides they seem less mobile but if you do find them they will hang around for longer if not spooked. Would be great to hear your thoughts on this. Cheers

Its a hard way to target fish. Very much all or nothing. I was thinking could of quite easily moved or fished at different state of the tide and blanked - i think what im trying to say is that good fishing is close for all of us -just small changes in luck can bring the fish.

I've picked up a bombarda float to try some ways to get a bait where I want it and to move it about. First time I tried the float, every seagull with a mile appeared as soon as it hit the water. Covered the white colour with black PVC tape, even though not a lure I don't need to dealing with seagull snarled up in stuff.

Great video and phenomenal session! You are lucky to have all that rough ground close inshore which provides the perfect environment for the bass. Where I live in Christchurch you have to go further west to get access to rough ground like that but your video has inspired me to make the trip. There used to be some great ground at Hurst Castle but it is now all fenced off due to the foundations being undermined by the severe tides. Have you had similar success at other times of day or is it mainly the prime dawn and dusk hours?
@SaltwaterAngler4 ай бұрын
hello mate, Yes you make a really interesting point about the ground down your way. That said i know anglers who love those inlets and river systems. Dawn and dusk for bigger fish But still good fishing to be had on big high tides just as long as its not gin clear. There is plenty of bass ground like this just dont get cut off especially around seaford, Eastbourne,Birling gap.

Most of my lure fishing has been around the Kent coast, Whitstable - Herne bay areas and a little bit down by Reculver tower's. For me not very productive unfortunately 😕. Your area seems to be a lot more productive around your coast line, and the waters i have been fishing have nothing like the clarity you have there . The rod your using looks a bit on the soft side , and yes the gulls are a pain in the butt !!! But, have you thought about it 🤔 if the gulls are going for the lure ,does that relay a message to us the angler that we've fooled them so have we got it right for the fish to also be fooled ??? and hit the lure ??? Cheers mate Les.
@lesliecrowther70044 ай бұрын
@ 32 minutes in , was i seeing 👀 thing's or did a seal swim through about 50 yards out ???? Also a little bit 😔 sad seeing your selection of lures that you have, you might remember all mine were stollen from my car when i was in Torquay. Go some new lures, just enough to get by with at the moment, still a bit painful when i think about it.
