When fishing these shallow reefs and fishing in waist deep water I find alot of the time the bass are already under your feet and In some cases Iv even cast back towards the shore. This is a great series 👍

Henry! These videos have been fantastic and very informative. I have the sgs8 rod paired with sgs6 reel, it's like a wand! Landed my first bass using them this morning just over 3lb on the weedless sandeel v2 lemon candy! 🍋 🍬 🎣

That looks like a beautiful spot. I'm off for a bit of bass action myself tomorrow. I've even cast some custom eel heads for my gravity sticks. They really make the lures pop.

I lure fish for bass and yet the largest I’ve caught at just under 13lb was while I was Flounder fishing the Lougher estuary in Carmarthenshire. I also catch the larger fish in the spring and autumn, not the summer when there are loads of schoolies about.

Biggest bass of my life (7kg) caught knee deep🎉the baitfish hide at shore and the predators follow and wait for the tide to change to grab some munch..shallow fishing is the best fishing there is..soft plastic on a ewg offset jighead - can't beat that on snaggy terrain❤

Henry, thank you for all of this - informative, entertaining and gripping stuff! I’m new to bass angling after a year getting into lure fishing from rock marks up on the East coast of East Lothian and Borders, and regular trips up to Skye. I wonder, as I have a Danish pal who I showed your stuff too - he asked if you ever get hit by sea trout, as the tactics and ground seem similar? Ya as now if the content - I’m learning and counting down the days to my 4 day West Cork trip in late July. Regards, G P Weston

Henry after meeting you in Ardaire Spring angling expo earlier this year (black metal chat) I have decided to make the jump into bass fishing so I have ordered the SGS5 rod and reel and I am hoping to get stuck into some bass down here in Dungarvan. Hopefully I can hook one of these beautiful fish.

Hi Henry, would you recommend a pair surf waders, something like your wearing, cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪

A great tutorial but after trying this method in the same ground on various venues I still havent hooked a bass. They just are not there, but I cant see why as the ground, weather and tide conditions are perfect, what am I doing wrong?

Love the series. Up were I am on the east coast of Scotland we have too few bass to target them. We do have sea trout though. Would these same tactics do it for them?
@skateboardingjesus40062 жыл бұрын
A lot of the lure presentations for sea trout are very similar to, or more or less identical to bass fishing. Though sea trout are really really good at throwing the hook. I even use double split-rings on all my bass lures now to minimise this. I'm on the East Coast of Ireland, but I know places on the West Coast of Scotland, like around Solway, are seeing increasing numbers of bass.
@henrygilbey3022 жыл бұрын
double split rings as per the lad says below, smaller lures I would guess - smaller Seekers, Sandeel Pencils etc. The Scandinavian sea trout anglers fish a lot of reefy shallow ground for their sea trout
@whitetroutchannel2 жыл бұрын
@@skateboardingjesus4006 another reason they are great at throwing lures 2 is the hooks not went into the fish, there mouths are as tough as boots in the saltwater, brine makes everything tough, needle points help

Lip grip....should be outlawed. Can do so much damage to fish. Fish are designed to have their whole body weight suspended by water...not have all their body weight suspended by their lower jaw. Sadly, folk will see this video and think it is acceptable. Makes me wince.

Catch and release and the fish in fine there is worse things happpning in the world for sure 😅
