Jimmy your enthusiasm is infectious. That's how I was many years ago and still love the hobby. 👍🏾

This is a great series. I'm new into the saltwater world, and my first tank was a 130gl. Now I'm starting a 310gl. You guys are very informative. My 130 was hit with something, and I lost a few fish, so I decided to quarantine the entire tank. So I decided to take more of a crawl, walk, run phase with the 310. I'm learning more by watching your videos so thank you for your help.

Love the Fish shirt Mark is wearing! That said, For a series that is advertising as a Newbie Tank Build, I feel the information level of each video has dropped the last couple episodes. Like today, there are really 2 pieces of info for this 11m video. Write/Log your tank activities and the beginner corals don't need targeted feedings. There is a little info here on lighting, but nothing I would have considered substantial except he probably doesn't have enough. There's nothing on why its not enough (And if the 2 he has might be hurting the corals with not enough light.) Especially as Jimmy talks about the corals just hanging on and wondering if he should be feeding them to help them thrive. It would have been a good chance to talk about how to compensate for the 2 vs 3/4 lights on his tank. (Intensity, duration at max, etc.) You talk about adjusting them next time and then you go into a discussion incrementally buying equipment. (Which would be a great discussion for a budget tank build, but seems a little off putting for a 200 Gal $3800 tank.) Just seems to be light on the info here and this series is turning from cute but informational into more of a cutsie eye roll series. Most people looking for tank series videos, especially if there is Newbie or Beginner in the title, are looking for enough information to start building a tank in the hobby themselves. I don't feel like that information is there 90 days in for this series.

Part of the point of the series is to share the experience of a newbie going through setting up his/her first saltwater tank. This specific video was more of the experience side of the setting up the saltwater tank.

@@Saltwateraquariumdotcom I think you missed my point, but that's ok. I've reset my expectations for this series from a informational series to surface level conversations on basic topics.

Love the saltwater, but in no way shape or form is cleaner or easier than fresh water!
@chasingalaska3997 Жыл бұрын
Its cleaner cause it cost more to up keep. Salt,is not cheap when your having to buy ever month or every other month. And the clean up critters.
