Battle Arenas are a MUCH better experience than Quickplay IMO. Not only can you find a lot more skilled opponents more easily, but people also (at least from my experience) tend to play a much less campy playstyle, not to mention you can also rematch people with a different character, unlike Quickplay where you have to rematch as the same exact character every time. Oh yeah, and you can actually taunt.

Here's a story for anyone interested. Around the time when smash first came out and people actually cared about piranha plant. I was playing Toon Link in one faithful night... There was this Captain Falcon wearing the white outfit. We battled 5 times with me winning every match. He relied too much on down B's and Falcon punches, so naturally I just kept punishing him for it. I never used lots of projectiles because I kept forgetting to use them. So to my surprise Captain Falcon got unreasonably salty. On our final match I got cocky and lost two stocks. One to a spike and one to a item. I was on my last stock, and boy was I panicked. But then at that very moment Captain Falcon let all his salt go in Tea bagging. My panic quickly evolved into anger. 2 stocks down i quickly charged Captain Falcon and took down his first stock. Then we battled and he put me in 100%. He got cocky and tea bagged more. I finally took his second stock and he was not very happy for there was 10 seconds left and he was running to stall time right before I took his second stock. He rushed me to no avail as sudden death appeared. I remembered to use items and threw every boomerang and arrow I could. He jumped over and went for the knee but a fully charged arrow hit him in the gut. I cheered "YOU ARE TRASH." I reverse three stocked that tea bagging Captain Falcon and he did not want a rematch. And that kids is how I beat up a raging Captain Falcon.
