Avacyn was the first magic card I ever bought (back before she was $50) and my first commander. All these years later, she's still my play group's most feared creature.

One of my favorite memories involving this commander is from another KZbin account, with a bunch of friends who play EDH. The theme of this particular battle is Innistrad-Only. The Avacyn player has established a massive field and is moving in for the kill. But then the Zombie player pulls off a truly glorious counter: Village Rites, sacrificing a Zombie Token to draw two cards, and declaring that the first card will be Miracle cost Devastation Tide. It is. The Hallelujah Chorus plays while the whole table explodes. It’s just such a great moment. That said, Avacyn truly is a salty commander. I’d even go so far as to say that you immediately become the Archenemy just by playing this deck.

So I made this deck and tried it out at my LGS. Needless to say, she's more than earned her S(alt) level ranking. Another Avacyn player suggested I add Worldslayer for extra degeneracy.

If you wanna be extra mean, you can revolve your board wipes around destroying artifacts. If you have a card like Mycosynth Lattice on board, you’ll wipe out their lands as well as everything else.

Phial of galadrial has become one of my fav rocks. Yesterday I played 5 matches of commander and I have it in my 4 commander decks and in 3 games it actually gave me some card draw. I really like it 😊

Had a guy who was running avacyn as his commander and all match he complained that a who was running a fairly upgraded precon was the biggest threat at the table when he had and used arma to destroy our lands and I was like bro you used one of the most hated in our play group land destruction card and you think he’s the the threat dude gets and leaves all pissed off and the rest of the table just burst out laughing and continue to play a 3 man pod

Thats why ppl gotta know how to counter, janky BS like that and consult with your group about what your playing. Land destruction/boardwipe decks are never fun to play against and anybody with a card like this is getting killed first just because of how pesky she is and keep counter magic up in case they start trying to wipe the boards

Could Add Platinum Angel to make Special Win Cons be told no as well as Mill Decks. Could also Add "Curse of Exhaustion" and Target the Opponent with it, and now they are hard stuck to 1 spell per turn which in this build, being forced to play only 1 tapped mana and passing really sucks for them Could also use "Sol Ring" to add even more mana quickly "Swords to Plowshares" makes it easier to deal with on kill effects

To counter this, you can use cards that gain control of a creatures like trickster god heist cards that make them sacrifice creatures like chain devil/sheoldred since they force non-tokens to get sacrificed or you can still give her -1/-1 counters since they can still die even with indestructible. Don't get robbed by ppl playing janky BS and keep improving as players!

This deck seems super fun and I love that commander. I’m wondering though, given that this build is commander dependent, could this deck use a little more commander protection? I’m new to magic so my bad if that’s a dumb questions, but I’m just curious if there are any good white cards out there to protect the commander?

Is 23 wraths too many? I mean, I usually bring some pretzels for all the salt I get. Worldslayer is a great end game piece. Armageddon usually has everyone scoop. I do things like Mirrodan Crusader to discourage the early attacks, but the walls might do just as well. I don't do the stax stuff, but I think the extra board wipes are just as salt inducing. I been playing this deck for years, trimming and curating. You think it's overpowered until someone brings out the Markov deck...then, suddenly, people are happy for board wipes. It's fine.
