Sure he did give Josh more chances of an out but the biggest threat at that point was Ashlen anyways. If he doesn't try to get the mass reanimate there he has literally 0 chance of winning there anyways

You can't know more than you do in the moment, and in the moment he made a great political decision which eased the the others into good feels for him, meaning they weren't swinging at him so much. If he'd have put someone to 10, that person would have brought their full wrath on him just to screw him up so another player that isn't Joe can win instead, since they know they likely can't win either because of Joe. Kinda like how Mitch messed up Josh's plans when Josh made him lose during Extra Turns. Edit: Also cutting off Jimmy's life later was a great move; cut off the Bolas's Citadel, while being able to also justify it as fair payback for Jimmy attacking the Sorin earlier.

He 'could' have played Kaalia, equipped her and swung with her and another 8+/8+, but later admitted he had no angels, demons or dragons in hand. That's why he had to play new Kaalia instead. So he couldn't have killed Josh at that point, despite his boasts during the interview segment immediately after Joe decided to only plus Sorin.

Feels like every time Josh plays blue Cyclonic Rift shows up and wins him the game. The episode with him playing Uro was really the limit for my patience, if he's just going to Rift and win every time he plays blue there's not much point in watching when the other decks don't really get a chance to shine. This episode Jimmy misplayed hard by putting down the citadel when there's a Sorin on board, he could've been patient and won if he'd passed without putting down the citadel.

kahn it can block hellkite but if Josh removes the counters at the end of turn it’ll die, meaning it’s a trade of bosh and vish kal. There’s then a slightly greater chance of Josh losing

If you didn’t know there’s a free online software where you can play Magic with others named Cockatrice! Just throw in a .txt file with 100 cards, get a friend, and you’re good to go!

Copying/pasting another comment I made in another thread: I dunno. You can't know more than you do in the moment, and in the moment he made a great political decision which eased the the others into good feels for him, meaning they weren't swinging at him so much. If he'd have put someone to 10, that person would have brought their full wrath on him just to screw him up so another player that isn't Joe can win instead, since they know they likely can't win either because of Joe. Kinda like how Mitch messed up Josh's plans when Josh made him lose during Extra Turns. Also cutting off Jimmy's life later was a great move; cut off the Bolas's Citadel, while being able to also justify it as fair payback for Jimmy attacking the Sorin earlier.

What he did was the correct play. Had he used it against Josh right away, he would have died to Jimmy and the Citadel . His mistake was letting his commander go to the grave. Had he sent it to the command zone instead, Josh wouldn't have been able to stop Ashlen from killing him.
