Have you tried using the big earner? I think the speed boost would help your playstyle a lot and enable you to get somechainstabs that you can't secure with stock that you end up dying for anyways

As Soundsmith says in his video about the Big Earner, that -25 health is VERY impactful, I think Salty is good enough to the point where he can just use stock. Besides, some of those kills he gets an instant before dying wouldn't be possible with the Big Earner, because, again, -25 health

im pretty sure fake ping is a thing done by cheaters as a way to excuse their weird headshots and hits

@@astyurrakureat real ping itself actually benefits 2 of the classes, and the people who were lagging were playing those classes Pyro benefits because flamethrower jank And spy benefits because melee hit detection is client side. If an enemies position is only updating on your screen ~10 times per second as opposed to ~60, it’s a lot easier to hit a backstab.

Something that confuses me is why does Phish exclusively disguise as scout? Wouldn't it make sense to change that over the match so they don't know who to check?

If he disguised as a slower class then his walking speed is reduced, which is just kind of annoying. Disguises are harder to be convincing in competitive lobbies, So most people prefer not to reduce their move speed for a minor increase in sneakiness. Also might be muscle memory

Not only is that really high ping so its already a little odd (for reference me playing from new Zealand to servers in the US reaches about 130, so south America to North America servers really shouldn't get that), but the fact they had 2 people sitting on EXACTLY the same ping for an extended period and it just happened to be on the classes where high ping actually helps (sniper and spy). There's a decent chance of someone using a lagswitch or having other cheats that also affect ping. So yeah basically just a "ok this is a little bit suspicious, let's just take a moment to check if everythings legit before this starts proper".

if ur in NA, try newbie mixes! it's 6v6 only unfortunately but from what i've heard (from here in the eu where it's impossible to get into comp, lol) its a great way to get into the competitive scene in a low-stakes environment with an experienced coach to help u out.

Why did they let BTS cap the first point without fighting ? Is there an actual reason for that decision ?

I haven't played comp HL in like 12 years mind you, but if the meta is the same, it's common practice to either give up first or light hold first because the distance from first to second point is short for offense but long for defense, and the rollout to first just takes too long to be worth trying to defend. If you're wiped or something defending first, you basically are guaranteed to also lose second point and even if you didn't wipe, if you keep losing too many players, the staggering of spawns would make it hard to defend either point. It's just not worth the risk. In 6s, it was less of an issue because everyone rolls out pretty quickly.... But also 6s players hate payload so we rarely had leagues that would have swiftwater in the rotation
