Give the Aquarian SuperPad a try. I had mesh heads and made the switch. They give a lesser rebound than mesh and all you have to do is lift them off to get to the heads. Saluda cymbals are the bomb. I play the Earthworks line.

Saluda Cymbals are incredible! I have well over 50+ cymbals in all of their different series. My favorite for all around music styles, and looks, is the TESLA series. But, I’m absolutely falling in love with their new GREEN GODDESS series. They’re so dry, articulate, and musical. They absolutely blow the Meinel Byzance Extra Dry series away! Plus the oxidized green color looks like nothing else on the market! They’re simply beautiful looking, and sounding! I heard a rumor from a Saluda employee, that they are also experimenting with a potential ‘All WHITE’ color of a Cymbal Series. I’m glad that Saluda is starting to get National Exposure. I’ve given away or sold all of my other Big Four Cymbals. As I’ll NEVER play any other cymbals again, half the price, a lifetime warranty, custom designs, personalized tailored sounds, and Customer Service that makes you feel like you’re their favorite customer. Why else would you not purchase and play their cymbals?!? It’s simply a no-brainier! -And, NO, I’m not being paid to post this, nor am I an employee! I’m just a drummer that knows quality, Hi-End Cymbals when I see, hear, and play them!-✌🏼

How would you compare volume levels between the Zildjian L80s and the Saluda low volume cymbals? Are they about the same - a touch louder maybe? I'm currently using my L80s with my Roland e-kit, and they're acceptable, but the tonal quality is okay-to-mediocre... I'd like to find something with a better tone for rehearsals.

I purchased the 20" ride, and you're right, the cymbal looks just awesome and sounds great. It pings great and opens up nicely on crashes but not too loud. I plan on using it for my smaller cajon gigs where patrons like live music but want to have conversations. I will be experimenting with electrical tape to increase volume and alter the tone based on pro drummer Jon O's fantastic idea. Check out his video. Agean low r cymbals seem to sound better than these saludas. Kinda a disappointment.
