Can't really reset the yourself. Sometimes you can clear the codes, but I'd send it to myairbags.com

How hard was it to lift off the inner console trim? It looks as though you just yanked it straight up. Its just plastic clips holding it down to console?
@DIYSalvageGuy
@DIYSalvageGuy Жыл бұрын
It's all just clipped in once the screws are removed. A little pressure and yanking is all you need.

Hi, I have a Audi Q7 2007 airbag light on I run the Scanner Code Reader and I got Airbag control Module - J234 No signal do u think I have to replace.. thanks

I'd always first try to clear the codes. Usually that's all you need to do. No signal seems like a problem but if clearing the codes doesn't work, take it out and send it to myairbags.com they will get you io and running again real quick. Use code DIYSalvageGuy for a discount too.

If the car has less miles, it would be worth doing things like that, but floor mats cover it up just as well 😊

Hey I have a problem on my 2011 Audi q5 s line , the fob key stopped working all of a sudden and now I can’t lock or unlock the car unless I use the mechanical key that’s inside the fob, I went to Audi dealership they reprogrammed a new key and same thing nothing, after that they said the control module underneath the passenger seat might be the issue and they asked $1500 to buy the part and to reprogram it but they’re not 100 % that’s gonna fix the problem. Any ideas ?
@DIYSalvageGuy
@DIYSalvageGuy 2 жыл бұрын
I find it odd that they were able to program a new key without the control unit working properly. This might be a stupid question, but you're sure the battery in the fob works?
@luisc2816
@luisc2816 2 жыл бұрын
@@DIYSalvageGuy Yes first I changed the battery inside the fob key; so first they said they’re not sure what the problem is and suggested to start with the key. Also they said the module was intact no trace of water or wiring corrosion( witch is odd because I had a water leak right at the passenger seat),so they programmed another key based on that. And when they saw the key is not the problem they wanted to proceed to the next step by changing the module.

If you had water in the car, I'd probably say that's your problem then. Electronics are very sensitive.

you don't need to replace the module even if the driver airbag or any other airbags blow on audis like this, I replaced driver and curtain airbags on 2010-2016 s4 and the light goes out after codes clear, other car makes and models do need the module reset through a service just like seatbelts like toyota or infiniti, audi was not the case

@@DIYSalvageGuy from my experience with that, even when driver airbag deployed, the module still didn’t need to be sent out for resetting, I put new airbags in and erased codes and light went away, make sure to disconnect battery terminals when working on anything airbag related and seatbelts, even the seats. The airbags in the seats are connected with the harness underneath the seats like in the video, better safe than sorry to have something deploy unintentionally

Hi, thanks for all the great content. I was wondering how to take that white/ silver center console trim. Mine is cracked and I'd like to replace it but I haven't found any video online on how to do it. Do I use a simple trim tool or do I have to take out the whole center console like you did. Please any help would be highly appreciated.
@DIYSalvageGuy
@DIYSalvageGuy Жыл бұрын
You might be able to pop it out with a trim tool, but I think it is all one piece and needs to be replaced together. Couple screws and you're good. Pretty simple process.
