Thanks so much! We'd love to make some longer videos, but it's all just a matter of what we can get accomplished by the time a new video needs to go out. The last thing we want to do is stuff in an extra 2 minutes of wiring time lapses or useless/redundant explanations just for the sake of making a longer video. That wouldn't be fair or beneficial to you guys! As we grow, hopefully we'll be able to make some longer videos for y'all! We'd love if you shared our channel with your friends or family, and if you like the stuff we're wearing in an episode, the merch that we sell in our store helps support the media creation. But I got the computer mounted behind the ashtray self tapped into the Y for the heat and ac. I also got the ls fuse box mounted behind the glovebox but i had to cut up the fuse box. Cause im just trying to have a ls swap square so I did it the most simple way which i found to just use both fuse boxes for the original truck and the Ls. Fires up just fine, i just need trans lines so i can actually fire it and let it idle for a bit.

How did you wire in the speed sensor on the transfer case to the computer?
@tcwaite887 ай бұрын
They didn't. I'm trying to figure that out now. It doesn't shift correctly. There's a Dakota digital sen-01-128 they used on the np208 but after speaking to Dakota digital, these are not designed for ECU feedback. I'm learning the only proper way to do it is with a 40 tooth reluctor ring somewhere in the transmission. I have to inspect it this weekend by removing the rear dummy plug in the 4l80e and seeing if there's a reluctor inside but if it's a transmission from after '97 there isn't one.

I love the idea of this LS swap, something I would have loved to do with my dads truck. Just curious everything looks so good why didn’t you give the engine bay a refresh cleaning and quick spray to really show off the new LS. Trying not to be critical but it seems like a small job with engine out even if done with a shaker can.
@SalvagetoSavage2 жыл бұрын
The engine bay was pretty clean to start with. There were no really noticeable torn up parts or rust spots. Sometimes if you try to spray over the little things, they tend to stand out more because the paint won't match up correctly. The entire bay didn't warrant a respray, so we figured it was best to leave it how it was!

My son just blew the stock 350 in his restored lifted long bed K10. How much would this set me back to do a LS, versus installing another 350(jasper)
@SalvagetoSavage Жыл бұрын
It really depends on where you pull your parts from. A running junkyard LS could be pretty cheap if you have a pick and pull near by, but you might run into issues not having everything you need for it to run (wiring harnesses, sensors, etc). Full drop in set ups are available online. They can be a bit pricier, but you at least know you're getting a good motor with everything that it needs to run in some cases. The rest comes down to labor and whether or not you're doing it all yourself.
@shadetreemetalworks2 жыл бұрын
With a fresh hone I don't see why the rings wouldn't seat, although it is a little unorthodox to reuse them. Given good bores, it should be good as new. I would have also put in ARP rod bolts, but then you'd need to rebalance the rotating assembly. So I get it. Looks like a great build with realistic goals and a reasonable budget. PS: I would have moved earth itself to make those valve covers fit, they looked great.
@SalvagetoSavage2 жыл бұрын
We were very much on the fence about whether or not to cut into that cover to make it fit. Andrew decided it was better to just find another route since the cover had such a nice crinkle black powder coat on it. It would have been way too hard to match up.
