The funniest and most tragic thing about Everton last season was their fans cheering like mad for winning a corner at Anfield, I'll never know how Liverpool didn't just win the game but obliterate them, it was one of the most gutless & embarrassing performances I've seen from a team at Anfield, they were punting it out for territory like a rugby team.

Everton never would have been relegated no matter what. Squad is way too good to go down. They just panicked far too soon and ended up with a Manager who should have been saving actual struggling clubs such as Stoke City, Swansea City, West Brom or even Watford instead like he always does.

His football is generally fine, he plays the percentages. Problem is at his core he has a defensive mindset which is frustrating when you want your team to seize the initiative. Plus he often talks a load of bollocks in interviews, decent manager though.

You DID do a very good job, Sam.. and you deserve respect for that!!. As an Everton fan, i'd admit I have - as all Blues - been wishing for someone, something, new and a bit special to really kick-start our team, but I personally would not deny you the respect you deserve, as.. in all honesty.. before you arrived I couldnt see where our next point was coming from!!! Those who say otherwise, that we were never really in jeopardy, are looking back through dodgy blue tints only.. and talking BS (and they know it!!!)...

Tantalizing football my arse the only difference between him and koeman was he knew we needed a striker and a winger who has a bit of pace and can cross the ball the rest of his play was to go 1-0 up then stick everyone but tosun behind the ball. He did well for us i admit but he is extremely big headed especially as hes acting like hes turned us into a big club after being there for 6 months his ego is bigger than his belly tbh

Every team excpet newcastle struggled when he left for example Bolton, Blackburn, West Ham... doesnt get the credit he deserves due to this tag of 'boring long ball football'. Jose mourinho is another who is constantly defined with his tag. I always though Sam could have been a one club man and build/cement a legacy, shame its not going to be known as a good journey man manager. ONE THING you cant argue... he always kept club stable/safe in the PL.

I think hes a lot better than the typical merry go round managers who keep getting prem jobs like Mark Hughes, Moyes, Pardew etc. Only real failure was Newcastle in his career. If we go up and thinks go potty id take him all day long... how that Mark hughes and pardew keep getting prem jobs is beyond me

It genuinely fills me with disgust that he is a former manager of my club. He's like the God of anti-football. Taking credit for anything good, passing the buck on failure. A legend in his own head, to every Everton fan I've ever spoken with, he's a BELL-END !!!
@95Lodgey
@95Lodgey 6 жыл бұрын
Geof Thompson He got you an 8th place finish. About right for Everton that! Honestly how much higher do you think you should have finished? He was hired to keep you up from relegation and he did it easily!
@geofthompson3844
@geofthompson3844 6 жыл бұрын
@@95Lodgey no one really questions that. It was ok considering but that's not why I or any other Everton fan hate him so much. We hate the way he took credit for the 4-0 win over West ham which was Unsworths'( beloved at this club) last game as caretaker manager. We hate the way he says he saved us from relegation. After that result against the Hammers we were 13th. 6 points off the top 6. He never progressed us. The football was the worst I've ever seen at Goodison park. He always took all the credit for anything positive and always passed off the blame for failure onto someone else. He was smug and self important towards the fans and if you don't believe me ask any Everton fan...... Or any Newcastle fan or any West Ham fan. He didn't save us, he stole 12 million quid and depressed everyone with a soul. Would you swap him for Bielsa ? NO ! Of course not. Because he is a self aggrandising ego maniac dinosaur !!! Hope that clarifies my feelings on this matter for you 😁, good luck for promotion, Leeds belong in the premier league, hopefully we'll be seeing that beautiful white kit gracing Goodison once more. 😉 Leeds Leeds Leeds 😁

I was indifferent on Allardyce until he came to Goodison. In fairness, he did the job asked of him. We were where we were, and he came in and finished 8th so fair play to him. Think he does get a bit of unfair stick sometimes and he's done a good job wherever he's been. I'm back to being indifferent now. Good luck to him if he gets back into the game.

They probably would have stayed up under Unsworth, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as comfortable. Everton came to Leicester under Unsworth at the end of October and they were an absolute shambles. They also got hammered 4-1 away at Southampton shortly afterwards. They'd have stayed up because ultimately other teams were worse, but make no bones about it they were in a mess.

Well that's the one thing that does baffle me about his time at Everton. He finally had the opportunity of managing a big club with ambition and money behind them. You'd think he'd want to do everything to shake off the 'survival specialist' tag. They were safe in February/March time so you'd think he'd want to show a bit more. Obviously not though.

I agreed with everything he said untill about the two minute Mark. We were in serious trouble before he took us over and we all would of ripped your hand off for a 8th place finish. The board sold him down the river and should of came out said he was going at the end of the season. Instead they left it and all it did was build a rift between the fans and allerdyce and the board. He did what he was brought in to do and as a fan base we were terrible to him. We had to be because we had to make our feelings known because I watched 6 months of the worst football I have ever seen everton play.

Sam, you did not do a FANTASTIC job. The Premier League is weak outside the top teams. Everton should've finished 7th, even with the bad start. Fantastic would've been at least 7th, playing great football and winning the FA Cup. The football was AWFUL. It was the worst football I've seen at Goodison in 2 decades. Sam, wind your ego in a bit.

Saying he flopped is a bit harsh. His record managing everton compared to other clubs during the period is 6th in the table. Numbers don't lie.

Lucrio exactly, from when he took over to the end of the season he took the 6th most points in the league. That's an amazing record. Fans have no patience anymore, they want everything right now. How about letting managers build a team and implementing good football over time. His job when he arrived was to keep Everton in the league and get results. He excelled at that.

He had plenty of opportunities to do better , and he was satisfied with taking a point , played for a point he coasted to 8th really , it's fine when your at Crystal palace and Bolton when they have had no real period of success but at Everton , West Ham & Newcastle you have to have more about you and he got found out at all 3 clubs

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are the top 6 clubs in Premier League and are well known across the globe with a worldwide fanbase. Everton though currently placed 7th in Premier League according to popularity in the UK, are nowhere near the top 6 teams in Popularity and fan base. In Europe, if football fans, in general, consider English Football clubs, only these 6 clubs come into the picture. For Manchester United fans or Liverpool fans or Arsenal Fans or Chelsea Fans or Man City fans or Tottenham fans, Everton FC will always be considered a small club. The truth is bitter to swallow.

He really is a disingenuous bullshit merchant isn't he? Going on about Everton playing good football under his reign and not being able to get over the "tag" of being a defensive, prehistoric hoof ball merchant. No, you are labelled as that because that's what you are. The same man that got himself sacked as England manager by trying to sell ways round third party ownership and then when he gets caught has the audacity to call it entrapment. He's an absolute joke. Why do they keep giving him a platform?

Everyone knew when you got the job you would be leaving at the end of the season if not sooner. Even Everton don't want a grubby guy like Allardyce in charge. The tag he's got is for being a dodgy and the reason he can't get shut of it is because it is well deserved.
