He always took all the credit for anything positive and always passed off the blame for failure onto someone else. I was indifferent on Allardyce until he came to Goodison. In fairness, he did the job asked of him. We were where we were, and he came in and finished 8th so fair play to him. They probably would have stayed up under Unsworth, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as comfortable. Everton came to Leicester under Unsworth at the end of October and they were an absolute shambles. They also got hammered 4-1 away at Southampton shortly afterwards. They'd have stayed up because ultimately other teams were worse, but make no bones about it they were in a mess.

Everyone knew when you got the job you would be leaving at the end of the season if not sooner. Even Everton don't want a grubby guy like Allardyce in charge. The tag he's got is for being a dodgy and the reason he can't get shut of it is because it is well deserved.

Allardyce was crap at Everton. 8th in the league was not the dream, it was the standard expectation for them. Nothing ambitious about that.
