What I've always loved about Sam's and Cass' friendship is that it evolved so organically, not with a pre-set like Cass and Dean, yet it never got the attention on the show that it deserved. Somehow, they are always sort of side characters in the Dean-show and their relationship with Dean is the focus of most scenes. Sam and Cas deserve more screentime together (not going to happen now, for obvious reasons).
