I come back to this song, from time to time. When I need perspective. When I need calm. There is something about Sam's voice that brings me peace and returns me to center. A reminder to endure. To push on, not discarding the events that make us who we are. I am encouraged to continue singing my song. It was always mine.

This song perfectly describes the abyss that is depression... I've been listening to it every day since my husband passed away from cancer last year; it helps me cope with the persistent thoughts that our kids would be better off without me in their lives bc the depression makes me think I want to join their daddy in the afterlife. Every day is a struggle but this song helps me push through the darkness

I was confused by the artist name here at first as I wasn't aware he had come out as trans. But yes, amazing voice! If anybody that likes this hasn't checked out K's choice (his band) yet, you totally should! Especially their first couple of albums (I like the newer stuff too but I prefer that 90s alt-rock sound they had back then)
